Considering the fact that this is a two sided tamper, tamping can get a bit uncomfortable due to the fact that you have to use your palm to press down on one flat surface to tamp the grinds. for $7, I don't mind, and I had an idea of what i was going to get. tamps well, beans don't stick to the surface, though I wish it was a couple of millimeters wider.Customer Review: Does the job..

I've had this tamper for over a year now; it is starting to show some scratches on the base. I think the double-ended design makes it difficult to hold on to, without hurting your wrist over time. Basic tamper is good for most people doing one or two shots a day. Certainly prefer this over the plastic tamper that comes with the machine.Customer Review: RSVP Terry Tamper

I wanted a solid, no frills tamp that had two sizes common to most espresso makers' group size. I had ordered a machine without knowing the size. Well, the 58 mm end worked out fine. Terry's RSVP Tamper is great! I have been searching for just the right size for a couple of years, and I had resorted to using the bottom of a glass votive candle holder as a tamper until now. I have a Gaggia Classic espresso machine. The 55mm plastic tamper that came with the machine broke after a while. This one-piece cast aluminium Terry Tamp temper is a perfect replacement for the original. It is easy to hold, easy to use. No reason to spend $20-$100 on fancy tampers that may be inferior in quality to this.
