For the price, you can't really expect a laboratory-level scale. Instead, this is a lightweight, easy to use scale that, for me, is extremely easy to use. I keep it stashed in a corner of my kitchen and grab it to weigh anything I want. I can put a paper towel or small bowl or even a larger dish on it, tare it, and put product on it. The dish doesn't even have to be centered. I am very happy with this scale.Customer Review: Compact, accurate, easy to use -- a real winner!

I bought this because we buy some food items in bulk at Costco and freeze after repackaging. I try to mark the new weight, but sometimes I'm off. Now, when I take something out of the freezer to defrost in the microwave, I whip out this little scale, which takes up almost no space at all, and weigh the package before defrosting. It's invariably more accurate than my estimates on the package. Well worth the money!Customer Review: No "Tare" function/Buy the Chrome One

Bought the chrome product which seems more sturdy than the color versions. The tare function failed after only a short time. Received a replacement right away from Amazon and surprisingly, tare function doesn't work on anything over 2 lbs. Sad. Recommend not buying a scale from this manufacturer. We bought this scale when our old one was dying. The old scale took ages to zero and the weight would change with the slightest shifting of the item being weighed. Not so with this scale. It zeros quickly and has the option of manually turning it off. The weight is accurate, even if you remove an item and place it back on the scale. We use it to measure portion sizes, and so far, it has worked perfectly.Customer Review: small problem prevents this product from being great

After reading other reviews, I've seen that I am not the only person who has had a problem with the battery cover breaking. I still give the product 3 stars because the broken battery cover does not actually prevent the scale from functioning properly, but it certainly lessens the perceived quality of the product. As one other reviewer said, I hate to have to tape up the battery cover on a brand-new product.
