I have two of these. They are just beautiful first of all. The color is so vibrant as are all Emile's products. The ridges make this dish special looking and the little handles on both sides are just big enough to make lifting easy. They bake evenly and clean up is so easy with this stuff cuz of the glaze I guess. This is such a handy size ...not only for cakes. I use it for cornbread, brownies, casseroles, a small lasagna, and just baking miscellaneous foods. A plus is that it's so pretty that you take right to the table to serve. CHEERS for Henry! Ideal for baking cakes and fruit desserts, this 9-inch square dish is a traditional French shape and has an attractive ridged exterior that makes it welcome in country kitchens. It can go directly from freezer to oven, into the microwave, under the broiler, and through the dishwasher without harming its glossy, lead-free glaze, which does not absorb odors or moisture and is so hard it will not crack, discolor, or scratch--even if food is cut on it. Beautiful enough to grace a dining table, it measures 1-3/4 inches deep and weighs 2-1/2 pounds.Since 1850, Emile Henry cookware and bakeware have been made in Burgundy, where a unique clay is kiln-fired into a ceramic unsurpassed for conducting and retaining heat.
