I received this pie dish as part of a birthday gift today. Since I wasn't baking, I warmed-up leftovers in it. It heated the food faster than it usually take to heat. The food heated more evenly and the pan cleaned with no effort at all. Right now I am browsing to put more Emile Henry on my wish list. I love it!

This ceramic pie dish gently diffuses the heat to the heart of the dish, baking the food evenly and gently without drying it out. The cooked fruit or meat pie can be brought to the table, still warm, in the attractive pie plate.When cooking and baking, ceramic diffuses the heat slowly and evenly. This handmade ceramic bakeware has a highly resistant glaze which does not scratch or craze and is highly resistant to chipping; the glaze is so hard, you can cut inside the dish without harming the surface. The bakeware also has a high resistance to large differences in temperature, and can go from the freezer to a preheated oven.

It can go directly from freezer to oven, into the microwave, under the broiler, and through the dishwasher without harming its glossy, lead-free glaze, which does not absorb odors or moisture and is so hard it will not crack, discolor, or scratch--even if food is cut on it. It measures 2 inches deep and weighs 2.4 pounds.
