Customer Review: Hate it! Clogged up by a piece of cork

Unfortunately, this little gizmo clogged up the first time we used it. We were opening a number of bottles of wine at a little get together when it just stopped working. The screw would go down, then stop. Thanks for our trustly old screwpull, which came to the rescue. After our friends left, I took a good hard look at the thing and there is a piece of cork way up inside the chamber. I let it sit on the counter for a couple of weeks, hoping that perhaps the cork would dry out and I could shake it loose. Nope. Back to the screwpull for me.Customer Review: inferior design

The Emerson wine bottle opener failed after several openings because it is not designed to be readily operated by one person. It must be held nearly perfectly vertical and firmly on the bottle top, while operating the switch. Almost impossible to do without assistance, at least for me. If it is not precisely vertical, the screw will bend and will not be able to do the job.The unit then is useless, as is mine. This is one of the greatest wine gadets I have ever owned. The ease of operation is conveniently quick and easy. Push the button one way and it inserts and extracts the corks. Push the button the other way and it removes the cork from the unit. The unit is attractive and comes with it's own charging unit which sits on the countertop. I enjoy it so much I bought two more. One for backup and the other I gave as a gift to a friend. Also, the price is very, very inexpensive for what you get. Enjoy it.Customer Review: Pleased

I had gotten this for my fiance, we both like to indulge in a glass of wine from time to time. we also try to get away when we can even if its just for the night, and we usually try to check out new wines when we are away if possible. when fully charged it is very handly to carry with us to use when needed. Easy to use and there is no strain pulling the cork out with your manual type cork screws, and no hassel to get the cork off the screw very easy to use and very satisfied with it.Customer Review: Worth every penny!

So opening a wine bottle isn't the hardest task of the day we must endure...but this nifty little gadget is a must have for those who like wine. I have had mine for over a year and have had no problems with it. The charge holds for a long time too as I can't always leave the base plugged in due to counter space. If you do choose to leave it on your counter though it is nice looking and compact. I highly reccomend this for yourself or as a reasonably priced gift.
