We have an old electric fry pan that is my wife's favorite thing in the kitchen to use to cook with. It's a shallow, narrow, about 12" wide, & long, about 20" long. (Lectro Maid) About a year ago the controller bit the dust so I looked on the "net" to see what was available. I just happened to find what I was looking for on "e-Bay", but couldn't afford the asking price. After waiting awhile and looking again I didn't see anything with the make and model I needed listed so I tried to see what I could do with the insides of the controller I had and found the cord insulation melted and other parts not much better. The heating element part of the fry pan was just fine. It took me awhile to clear my head and then I started to look for replacement controllers for sale. This time I found something that looked promising. When it arrived I found the controller housing to be too narrow to accomodate the heating element pins from fry pan but the center post and actual connections were the right size. I removed the guts from the new controller and placed them in the old controller housing. The new controller made a wonderful set of replacement parts for my old controller. It's very possible that I may not have had to do that if I'd known what current brand and model of kitchen appliances used that similar controller. The most important thing is that I now have an old Lectro Maid fry pan that is now working as good as new!!
