These little traps do the best job concerning rodent extermination.
If you're worried about the rodent suffering, check the trap frequently, and when you catch something and see it suffering, just stomp on it a few times.
I thought about playing angry Roman stabber person (right outta the bible!), and was going to dispatch several with a jab to the side, but I couldn't find a sharp enough stick, and you know, I was late for work, so I just stomped it (be careful or it will get stuck to your shoe and you'll have a screaming glue sled attached to your foot). Best thing to do is to fold it over so when you stomp, the blood and glue don't get on you.
I always tell them, "I'll bet you wish you had thumbs right now."
