I read most of the reviews on this scale before I bought it. Have had it for about 3 weeks so far. Works great. Appears to be precise. Digits easy to read.
I downrated to 4 stars for two reasons:
1. Large bowls cover the readout. It they had made the scale slightly taller, and changed the angle of the readout to closer to vertical (as my old scale was), then no matter how large the bowl, the scale could be read.
2. I prefer a separate on-off switch from the tare switch. This design requires the user to press the on/off/tare switch once to zero it, and then a second time to turn the scale off. An unnecessary extra step.

I can't add a lot to what's been said. This scale works great. I love that I can weigh to .05 oz. and one of my favorite features is that when you turn it off, the next time you turn it on, it automatically starts up in the last measurement mode you used. I know it doesn't seem like a big thing, but for years I had to switch my old scale from grams to ounces every time I turned it on. The front of the scale also sticks out far enough that I can still see the display when I have a large bowl on the scale which was also a problem with my old scale.
Very happy with this scale and I would buy another if anything happened to it.

I searched and searched for a digital kitchen scale of this size that was made in America -- to no avail. After all my shopping and researching, the EatSmart scale was my choice. It may seem light weight out of the box but it works great. It's easy to tare and it's easy to add items to get to the perfect amount since the display updates quickly. One slight note is that - in my kitchen, at least - I have to be right over the scale to read the digital display. Looking at an angle from the edge of the counter doesn't cut it. Overall, I am very happy with the EatSmart scale. I wish the scale was made in America though.Customer Review: Great and Accurate product

I bought this scale because of all the positive reviews i saw for it on amazon. I have never owned a food scale before so i can't really compare it to any other ones, however for a first time user so far its been amazingly accurate and on target.
My mom and i decided to test how exact it was and we had some groceries lying around that were measurable on the scale and we gave them a try, by measuring them and comparing them to the weight on the package of the item, and it was exactly on target. I'm very happy with the purchase and am looking forward to using the scale for everything i cook at home.

My husband and I were going on a very structured diet and needed to weigh all the food we eat. After searching, I decided to order the EatSmart Precision Pro digital kitchen scale. My husband is a doctor and had brought a very high dollar professional scale home for us to use temporarily until we got our EatSmart scale. I am here to tell you that the EatSmart scale was every bit as accurate as the professional scale doctors use! He was quite impressed at the accuracy, especially for the price.
If you are at all hesitating, fear not. This is the real deal and we couldn't be happier.
