For years I've journaled my food intake and measured the best I could but when it came to weight, I'd just have to guess and eyeball it. I finally decided to get a scale and I'm so happy that I did and I'm very happy with this particular one. It's small and sleek, it has the tare feature and you can switch from grams, ounces, kg and pounds very easy with just a click of a button. It goes up to 11 lbs which is very generous. It's very simple to use. Sometimes I use the tare feature and use a container for measuring and sometimes I just put a piece of plastic wrap on it. I really am loving it especially for meats and pasta....one portion of pasta (57g) is a lot less than you think!!Customer Review: BEST SCALE I'VE FOUND LATELY!

This is literally our 4th scale in 2 months - all the others have been returned, mostly because they either 1) took FOREVER to tare out when adding ingredients 2) didn't register small amounts of food 3) turned off so quickly, I couldn't even walk to the refrigerator and back for my next ingredient 4) would register "low battery" even with fresh batteries 5) would register "unstable" even when on a COMPLETELY flat work surface.
Each scale I had purchased ranged in price from $35-55 and this STILL beat all those, hands down.
Works great for food (which we primarily use it for) and for small mailings (helps if you ebay a lot :)).

Light, small, and easy enough to use for a directions-impaired person like me to employ right off the bat! You can weigh one set of ingredients after another on this scale, whose tare-weight feature alone makes it well worth the purchase. Take crackers, for example. Often, some are broken in shipment to the grocery store, so if the nutritional info reads 12 crackers for 100 calories, say, and you've got irregular pieces, it's more accurate to go by their grams per calorie. Ounces, tenths of ounces, grams, pounds...this scale can tally them all. The serious cook and nutrition-minded person will enthusiastically welcome the EatSmart Precision Pro into their kitchen.Customer Review: Great scale and EXCELLENT customer service

The product is all that other reviews have said - light weight, accurate, easy to store. What I would like to give kudos to is the outstanding customer service I received from Eatsmart. When I received the scale, it lit up but wouldn't weigh. Since this is my first digital scale, I thought maybe I had missed a step so I called the number on the booklet. I got right through to someone in New Jersey and when I explained my problem, he told me he would send a new one out and to throw the old one out. Sure enough, the new one arrived a few days later.
In my opinion a product is only as good as its customer service and Eatsmnart rocks.

I use this scale both for portion monitoring and weighing flour for baking. I LOVE that you can switch the scale between metric and English weights and that you can place a container on the scale and then tare the scale to compensate for the weight of the container. What I don't love is finding that 3 ounces of steak is not nearly as much steak as I would like to eat - thanks a lot EatSmart Precision Pro scale. I will say that a large plate sometimes covers up the digital display, but you can usually slide it around a bit and I'd rather have the small scale size so it takes up less counter space. Definitely recommend this product to others!
