Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of EatSmart Precision Pro Digital Kitchen Scale, WhiteCustomer Review: Simple, useful Summary: 5 Stars
Sometimes companies make simple devices much more difficult than they need to be (look at most of the deep fryers, for example). In making things complex, the build quality goes down, confusion goes up, and things are just crap in general.
This is not that.
This scale is cheap, reliable, accurate, and simple to use. You can quickly measure the weight of something, see it in pounds, ounces, kilograms and grams. Zeroing the scale is easy and intuitive. The display is large and doesn't get obscured by whatever you throw on the scale (usually... though perhaps a hold button would be nice). Build quality seems solid, it's not ugly, and it's not any bigger than it needs to be. More or less perfect. The only thing I'd change is I'd rather have more metal in the construction, but that's just me- this thing is pretty darn solid as is.
Customer Review: Excellent Scale for the Kitchen or Elsewhere! Summary: 5 Stars
After my old mechanical scale finally gave up I decided to order a new one-I read all the reviews that were on Amazon about the kitchen scales-some were rated good and some not so
good. I finally came across this one by EatSmart. I has outstanding ratings on it as you already know if you are reading the reviews on it. I agree with the others-this scale is
the best one you can find anywhere for the money!!! Only $25 for a digital scale. After receiving it from Amazon-I tried it out. According to the directions it can weigh things from as low
as a half gram up to 11 lbs or so. I tried its' sensitivity and it weighs even a piece of paper! That's pretty precise. Additionally it has a Tare function where you can pre-weigh
your container then zero it out-only weighing the food, etc. you put on it. It's definitely a Great Deal!
Customer Review: Works as advertised Summary: 4 Stars
This small, light-weight, scale does exactly what it is supposed to. It provides an accurate measurement, and does so on a consistent basis. Why only 4 stars? The buttons are a bit stiff and "clicky". The fact they are not covered makes them a little vulnerable in the event of a spill (this is a kitchen tool after all!). There seems to be a slight hesitation from placing weight on the scale, to when the weight "settles down" to give you an accurate reading. The display is not very bright and depending on lighting conditions can sometimes be a little difficult to read. My "ideal" scale would have a slightly larger platform for placing plates, etc. Having said this, those items are really rather minor. After three weeks of use I can say I believe I got what I paid for and, given its low purchase price, I would happily purchase one again.
Customer Review: Exactly what I was looking for! Summary: 5 Stars
This little kitchen scale is exactly what I was looking for! It weighs up to 11 lb (great when you have stoneware plates or glass bowls that weigh 5 or more lbs without anything in them!) and is accurate to the gram. It's so sensitive that it weighed an empty sandwich bag! I also love the calorie factor booklet it came with--it helps a lot when you're trying to figure out how many calories are actually in the food you're about to eat. The only negative I've found is that large plates hang over the edge and obscure the readout, and the display only shows the weight for a couple of seconds after you take the plate off--you have to read fast to see the weight. But overall, 5 stars--I'm thrilled with my purchase and don't know why anyone would buy one of the really expensive kitchen scales when this one is available.
Customer Review: Good little scale Summary: 4 Stars
I usually like to use an item for a while before reviewing, but since I was asked, here it is.
It's a good little kitchen scale.
Pro: It weighs well. I don't have problems with zeroing the tare function, which is important.
It's compact, not taking up much space in the cabinet or on the counter.
Surprisingly, a scale like this will weigh up to 11Lbs. I haven't tried it, so the jury is still out on that level of durability.
Con: I can't store it on edge. The book says this will drain the batteries, so something in the internal functioning isn't balanced. That's a design issue.
It feels flimsy. The plastic feel to it makes me want to treat it like glass, so I don't break it.
For the price, it's a good scale.
