Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of EatSmart Precision Pro Digital Kitchen Scale, White

Customer Review: Good cheap food scale
Summary: 5 Stars

I bought this scale because I wanted something to measure food in grams, and I didn't want to spend a ton of money. It didn't cost a ton of money and it measures things in grams, ounces, and kilograms (which seems redundant since grams are 1/1000 kg, but whatever). Tare button for leveling so I can weigh stuff in bowls or glasses or on plates without a problem. Takes about 5 seconds to turn it on, tare it, weigh my food, and turn it off. That's another handy function that not all scales have - you can turn it off yourself when you're done by pressing the tare button, so you don't waste battery juice.

It also came with a food calorie guide which I figured was a throwaway, but it actually has useful calories/gram info on foods that are tough to find good nutrition info on such as various kinds of meat cooked a bunch of different ways. Meat is tricky to gauge calories on and it's especially tough to find info in calories/gram, so that was a nice little bonus.

Good product. I recommend it. It's easy to underestimate portion sizes and this scale makes it easier.

Customer Review: Looking for small digital scale? Seriously, look no further!
Summary: 5 Stars

First, this kitchen scale is great!!! Our family is eating healthier and trying to control portion sizes as part of our lifestyle change we decided to make. I purchased this scale about six months ago and we use the EatSmart kitchen scale all the time. It's easy to weigh various foods, such as meats, pasta, cooked items, raw items, etc. It has been a real eye opener on the amounts of food that we consume and has allowed us to get things under control.

The "TARE" button is very useful for weight things out on a plate, pot, etc. and if you are bad or lazy at math. :-D Place your plate, etc. on the scale, push the "TARE" button and the scale is set to "0", now you can measure out your food more accurately without any math. I know you are thinking that it's not that hard to add/subtract but when you are weighing out things first thing in the morning and your brain isn't functioning at 100% yet, then it's easy to make mistakes.

One final thing that I love about the EatSmart family of products is that they use normal batteries and not an expensive watch battery.

Customer Review: EatSmart(tm) Precision Pro Digital Kitchen Scale -- Great Buy
Summary: 5 Stars

For years I used an old-fashioned food scale that was finally beginning to have problems. Before purchasing a digital replacement, I thoroughly researched all the scales available. I eventually chose the EatSmart(tm) Precision Pro Digital Kitchen Scale and have been completely satisfied with my decision. It is lightweight and has a very low-profile look when it sits on my kitchen counter. I love its ability to switch from ounces to pounds, grams or kilograms with the press of a button, even while weighing an item. I use the automatic tare feature just about every time I measure so that I can use the bowl or plate the item is going to be served on and keep the scale clean. If it gets dirty, it easily wipes clean, and it is incredibly accurate. I also like the fact that it uses regular AAA batteries, although I doubt I will need to change them for some time as the scale is only on for such short periods of time with each use. This product is a great buy for someone using it for portion control or a master chef!

Customer Review: A scale that scales
Summary: 5 Stars

We'd been using an old mechanical kitchen scale for years. It had one great feature - a bowl for holding stuff. But it only could weigh a pound of food. Not so good.

Now we have the Eat Smart scale and what a difference. Easy to use, accurate, and it can handle anything we throw at it.

If there was any issue it would be that the scale is pretty small, so a large bowl can obscure the read out. We don't mind since we don't have room for a bigger scale, but it is something to consider.

Sept 19 Update: Let me praise the company, EatSmart, too. The scale I bought in July stopped working. Something happened to the sensor, I guess, and it stopped measuring weight. I called Amazon, got the number of the company and called them. On a Sunday. I was transferred to someone from the company, I'll assume an executive, who immediately offered to send me a new scale.

Great Customer Service! (Caps intentional.)

Customer Review: A superior product from a great company
Summary: 5 Stars

I am transitioning to food from a liquid diet and am weighing my portions for the first time in my life. At the beginning of my diet, I purchased an Eatsmart bathroom scale, based on the user reviews, the features and the value. I have been absolutely thrilled with the bathroom scale. So, when I needed a kitchen scale, I checked out the Eatsmart product, and again was swayed by the positive reviews and the features. I have not been disappointed. It arrived quickly, is easy to use, is very accurate and has the feature of zeroing it out with a plate or other food items already on it, and then weighing only the added items. This has come in very handy. I usually prefer to buy locally and use coupons to get a great price, but I have been so impressed with the Eatsmart products that I came straight to Amazon.com to order it, knowing that I wouldn't be disappointed.
