Customer Review: A MUST HAVE FOR THE KITCHEN

Even after four years as a Dualit owner, I still get a certain pleasure from using its sensible, rugged controls, raising and lowering the toast myself, hearing the friendly ticking of its timer...It's only a toaster I know, but there's just something about it that gives you a sense of satisfaction. And it makes any kitchen look cool, just siting there. I also know it's expensive, but I've known people buy several new, lesser toasters in the time I've had my Dualit, so who's saving? If something does go wrong, I can get new bits so I won't have to throw it away, ever perhaps.
By the way, it makes good toast too. The best thing is that the toast doesn't pop up, and toast is much crisper if you leave it down (keeping warm) inside the toaster for a minute or two. You can't usually do this with regular toasters.

I purchased this toaster at the end of December. I only used it lightly for a few months, when it broke. The lever will not go back into the down position. I have to stand and hold down the knob in order to get a piece of toast done. The slots do not allow for bagel sized or large slices of bread. I am just so disappointed in this, but mostly when I wrote to Dualit, they did not make an attempt to have this fixed for me, and now the return time is expired. Don't buy this product. I had my cheap toasters for years, never a problem. Big mistake. Price does not equal quality.Customer Review: Wonderful toaster!

I bought this toaster because I loved the color and the retro look. I bought it at a Williams-Sonoma outlet as a refurbished piece for a 1/3 of the price of retail. I have never had a problem with the toaster since I bought it over a year ago. It makes the perfect toast. What's also nice about it, is it keeps the toast hot and toasty once the slice is done toasting, because it doesn't "pop" the toast out of the toaster. So, if you make toast and forgot about it for a few seconds, the toast will stay nice and toasty till you are ready to eat it.Customer Review: OMG Best toaster I ever had

Not only is this little toaster stunning (!) but it makes fine toast. I haven't screwed up a single pop tart since I brought her home. I love that it: Is fancy chrome, matches my Kitchen Aide mixer, doesn't set off my fire alarm, and is pretty.<br />

The toaster works great, a little noiser than I expected but not a disturbance. (The ticking of the timer) The little
canary' looks great on the counter. Though it is on the expensive side, only time will tell if the expense has been worth it. For now, it has been in appearance and performance.
