These aren't like typical firm or soft pillows -- it's more like they are squishy. It's hard to decribe, but I don't have any other pillows like them -- yes, kind of like down, but still different. I bought these for my husband, but somehow I've ended up using one as a body pillow. They fluff back up a lot quicker and easier than a down pillow, but not immediately like a fiber filled pillow, so that works nice for hugging (like I do) in my sleep. These are big fat pillows and will look quite nice if I get another set to use inside my fancy shams. Rather than some cheapies that are flat.
