Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Double Hinged Waiter Style Corkscrew - BlackCustomer Review: I give it an A Summary: 4 Stars
It is a very sturdy tool. Something I was looking for in a better quality wine key was the shape of the tip of the screw. This key has what I was looking for. It is a better quality tool than I had previously (that tool was NOT this brand - was from Olive Garden). The tefflon (spell check that) coating is very good. The blade on this key is of good quality, and really cuts into the foil more effectively than my previous tool. I am discovering that with this tool, my table-side wine presentations are going much smoother because of the sharper blade. I am getting the foils off much quicker, therefore not looking like a dork. haha.
I recommend this product if you have to do table-side wine presentations!
Customer Review: Wow, what a deal Summary: 5 Stars
I am not a waiter that serves wine, an overseas traveler, or a wine expert. I am just a Joe Schmo that was looking for a corkscrew. I read the reviews on Amazon, and noticed this item had an average customer rating of 5 stars. Boy, were these customers on the money. I bought this rascal and am absolutely amazed that such a simply constructed tool can be so efficient. It works great. All the other fancy schmancy corkscrews may be cool to look at, or lend some self-prestige to the owner. Whatever, blows your skirt. This baby is all anyone needs to open a bottle of wine and enjoy it. Although I enjoy and trust shopping on Amazon, readers should note that this item is available at some stores for $10.
Customer Review: Best Corkscrew Ever Summary: 5 Stars
This is by far the best corkscrew I have ever owned. I am a bartender on the Las Vegas Strip, and this corkscrew allows me to work FAST! First, the knife. Two things I like about this. One, the knife is really easy to get out. I have wet hands constantly, so I need a knife that is easy to get. And Two, the knife is serrated. IT NEVER GETS DULL! I use it for everything! open boxes, cut plastic wraps, and it cuts through any foil with ease. The corkscrew it self is also great with the double hinge. Some of the other double hinged screws out there I have pinched my self with in the join. Not this one! very clean, very safe. I'll never use another corkscrew.
Customer Review: This is a great corkscrew Summary: 5 Stars
Every once in awhile, you get a cork that just doesn't want to come loose. I've always preferred the Waiter Style corkscrew, but a conventional one doesn't always get the torque that it takes to get a sticky cork loose (at least without getting your blood pressure up in the process). The two step system on the Pulltap double hinged corkscrew gets that extra bit of torque to get the cork out of the bottle, and then gives you that extra bit of travel it takes to get the cork out of the bottle without bending or cracking it.
The apparently teflon coated screw goes in easy too.
Great corkscrew!
Customer Review: Simplest and Best Corkscrew Summary: 5 Stars
There are so many bizarre corkscrews on the market, some costing $50 or more. Somehow I got ahold of one of these simple little sommelier corkscrews and it works like a dream, FAR better than ANY of the weird expensive ones. Unfold the auger and lever, screw it in, and leverage the cork out in two stages. It requires no physical strength at all, I've removed some of the TOUGHEST corks with ease. Why the heck would anyone ever buy one of those expensive corkscrews when one of these inexpensive ones actually work much better?
