Customer Review: stick with the George Foreman instead

My George Foreman grill stopped working in December--after a couple of days I ran to Macy's to replace it but they had none in stock. In desperation I bought the DeLonghi grill. I've lived with it for about 6 weeks and my conclusion is: IT SUCKS!!!! The George Foreman grill is not perfect but if you are happy with it do not switch to this grill. Yes, the DeLonghi is easier to clean but I'm more interested in cooking than cleaning and the DeLonghi is lame in the cooking department. The glass cover of the DeLonghi is BS--we don't want to steam the food--we want to grill it.Customer Review: Great alternative to outdoor grill

This grill was everything I hoped for. It heats up quickly and cooks as fast as any outdoor grill (i don't know why the other guy had a problem with his pork chops - I can do a medium size steak in under 10 minutes using the cover). Salmon steaks, hot dogs, burgers and everything else also come out great. I was also pleasantly surprised that it didnt generate much smoke at all. I think it's an excellent product for someone who can't have an outdoor grill. The only thing is I don't pay for my electric and it might use a lot of electricity due to its high voltage.Customer Review: Amazon unable to package grill properly

The first grill purchased was improperly packaged and broken when received.
The replacement grill was also improperly packaged and broken when received.
The return procedure was frustrating, receiving the same email over and over with no provision for return. Finally found a phone number to customer service who processed return labels.
Then Amazon issued an incorrect credit to my credit card. Requiring more time and phone calls.
The grill may be great, but I will never know--the hassle was not worth pursuing a third time.

While I love my grill and think it's a excellent value, the package I recieved was missing the handle for the lid. After being granted a return and sent a new grill, I opened my new grill only to discover that it was missing the exact same part! I began to suspect that this was due to an oversight at the factory so I contacted them directly to request the missing part.
Still not exactly sure what the reason was for the mix-up but both Amazon.com & DeLonghi customer service were extremely helpful throughout this process*

I have had my grill for several years and have had no issues with the teflon coating. I have even taken a brass wire brush and cleaned the majority of the blackened left overs off. It works great to heat it up before cleaning and use a paper towel while it is hot. Need to be careful to not touch the surface though. I have used this grill countless times and it does take counter space so I have it on my range top covering the two left burners where it fits well and I can use the hood fan. I would definetely recommend this.
