Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of DeLonghi EC5 Steam-Driven 4-Cup Espresso and Cappuccino Maker, BlackCustomer Review: Best machine yet Summary: 5 Stars
This is my third espresso machine and by far the best, not to mention the most reasonably priced. My last machine cost three times as much and I never figured out how to consistently get great foam (the best part). There is a great article on Whole Latte Love's website on the technique to create foam -- with this machine it is a sure bet. Click the articles link; they even have an article titled "Frothing Doodads."
Customer Review: okay espresso, bad frother Summary: 3 Stars
This machine was given to me as a gift in 2007. I clean it regularly and don't use it terribly often. It makes a good espresso, but the milk steamer is almost if not completely useless. It worked great for about three months, but now it only gets about half of the steam pressure it used to, no matter how much I clean it.
Other than that, it does a pretty good job -- just make sure to buy decent coffee.
Customer Review: Brilliant! Summary: 5 Stars
I bought this machine in the UK and will definitely purchase one when we are back in the US. It makes as good or better latte's than you can get at any cafe and pays for itself very quickly. I was surprised how well the milk frother works and the coffee comes out nice and strong. Everyone who I have made coffee for from this machine - has ordered one for their home as well - its that good. You won't be sorry.

Customer Review: Save up for a better one. Summary: 1 Stars
Everytime I make an espresso or capacino with this machine, I take 5 minutes to clean up the mess it creates. From spitting coffee/espresso all over the counter while it's trying to brew, to getting coffee grinds in the milk I'm trying to froth...my recomendation would be to save up for a nicer one with more features and nicer quality. But as the saying goes, you get what you pay for.
