What can I say? I love it! I have mainly used automatic drip coffee makers while indulging in percolated coffee from time to time. Well sir, I have always enjoyed percolated coffee more. I'm a strong, black coffee drinker and percolated coffee is strong and thats good. I have always wanted to buy a percolator but, couldn't quite decide on the type and brand. I wanted one that was convenient and easy. I kept coming back to this model by DeLonghi. It just had character about it. A little pricey though... Well, I finally went ahead and ordered it and by golly, I'm happy I did! Couldn't give it a 5 star however and for just a couple of discrepancies. One is the handle which seems to be a bit loose. Don't know if thats supposed to be but, it seems like something that could need a fix in the future. The other problem is something minor that some folks probably won't need to worry about, that is coffee grinds getting into the coffee and therefore into the mug. I don't mind that too much however it would be better there not being grounds in my mug. I grind my own beans in a fancy grinder and even at the coarse setting, a percentage of the coffee is ground fine and thats what slips through the holes in the basket. This is something I'll have to finagle until I get it right.Overall I'm very pleased with this contraption. It's simple to use and clean. I love how easily and nicely the pot sits onto the base. It's hard to describe but, It's cool! It seems like they put much thought into how well the pot sits into the base, and, how easily and smoothly it comes off the base. The whole thing is well thought out and aside from brewing, in my opinion, a perfect cup of coffee, it's fast. Water heats up within seconds and although I haven't put a watch to it, it seems alot faster then any drip machine I ever used. So, if you happen to be shopping around for a great percolator I highly recommend this here DeLonghi! Especially if you like your coffee strong like me. Oh, and I put the brew strength selector all the way to dark! YEAH!!
