I bought this set of knives during Amazon's "Friday Sale for 109 dollars less than Amazon's "normal" price. That being said, there is a good number of well weighted and balanced knives for the price, however they did not seem particulary sharp. The finish of some of the handles was questionable with light scratches on several and very deep scratches on one knife. This set is made by Sabatier for the Daniel Boulud Kitchen line. I believe Sabatier knives are normally made in France, however the blade of each knife was stamped "China". Due to the damaged handles I returned this set to Amazon via their easy return system. My opinion is these are okay knives, but you might as well spend a few dollars more for a brand like Wusthof. You will not get such a large assortment of cutlery for the same price with Wushtof, but the quality and finish will be impeccable.
