I have had many other kinds of corn holders over the years and they all seem to fall apart too quickly. These corn holders, however, are quite sturdy and should be functional for the long haul. They are also attractive and would work well for both casual and more elegant occasions (although I can't imagine serving corn-on-the-cob for anything but a good casual cookout). My only complaint is that once we took them apart, it was hard to line them back up so that they "hook" together for storage.
