I bought the Dalla Piazza chopper after admiring the chopper of an aquaintance while helping them prepare dinner. I didn't pay attention to the brand and didn't think it would make much difference since the concept was so simple. Boy, was I wrong! This chopper is way too big and heavy. The holding compartment at the base is way too loose and susceptible to seapage. Worst of all though is that its almost impossible to clean. A large plastic shell covers the top of this contraption and cannot be removed (at least not easily). Food particles and quite a bit of water get captured in the chamber and you cannot get them out. After about 6 uses we threw the Dalla Piazza chopper in the garbage.
