I bought this a few years back - maybe about 3-5 years ago. It still works well but I didn't use it daily, maybe 2-3 times a week at best. It has a plastic like filter inside (not metal) and worked fine. I would have to agree with other reviewers about how it drips when pouring ALL THE TIME! To avoid that, I had to pour really slowly - only then did it not drip. But again, for $30, I coudln't really expect anything more. Hey at least it still works and brews decent cup of coffee.
Oh another thing - since I've had it for a few years, after years of usage, the platic lid that's supposed to snap on doesn't really because of the steam during the brewing process. Just flimsy design, doesn't affect the coffee, though.
