Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Cuisipro Donvier Yogurt Cheese Maker

Customer Review: Awesome
Summary: 5 Stars

Mine worked like a charm from the first time I bought it. Those that complain that the yoghurt sits in the whey just need to drain it once and a while if their yoghurt is giving off a large amount if whey. That's not very difficult.

I use homemade yoghurt that I make with yogourmet starter culture and make in a Waring Pro maker.

There is no weird metal taste, its easy to use, easy to clean and stacks easily in my fridge (unlike a homemade bowl/coffee filter contraption). I don't have to worry about it being contaminated or taking on any weird smells from the fridge.

A+ product in my books. Yes it could be a lot cheaper (the price kept me from buying for a long time) but once I bought it I wondered why it took me so long. It's not that expensive considering how long you'll have it.

Customer Review: BEST YOGURT CHEESE MAKER
Summary: 5 Stars

When I began my online search for yogurt makers, I really didn't know what to buy. Someone had given me a small container of Greek yogurt, and I loved it. When I went to purchase the Greek Yogurt, I knew I would have to learn how to make it. The cost of Greek Yogurt does not fit into our budget. I started my search on amazon, the reviews for this yogurt maker sold me on it.

I buy a large container of Plain Dannon Yogurt ($1.94), put it in the yogurt strainer and take it out before it becomes cheese and its the perfect Greek
Yogurt. I can usually get 4 to 5 servings out of this one large container.

That figures to about 40 cents per serving.

The other great thing about this yogurt maker is that it is small and easy to clean. I highly recommend this product

Customer Review: Another use for this great little product!

I'm just back buying a second one of these for my husband to use at his office.

I used mine to use it to make yogurt cheese - and it was great for that.

Somewhere along the line, I tried it for fruit - specifically, I buy frozen blueberries to have on my morning cereal. I keep them in the refrigerator so they're not frozen solid when I need them, but they'd get soggy and moldy too quickly in a regular container.

This little container is perfect for holding the fruit & keeping it fresh - I put a folded paper towel in the bottom of it, then the strainer in, then the fruit in the strainer and the lid on. The liquid seeps out and into the paper towel, the fruit keeps for a week, it holds almost a whole bag of frozen blueberries. Just perfect!

Customer Review: Neat little cheese maker

After going through the cheese cloth routine when making my last batch of cheese, this is a Godsend. A few people remarked that it is small, and not much of a reserve...may be true, but I only need to pour off some of the whey after 10 minutes or so..not a really big deal. 2 of these mistakenly went into my shopping cart, but that is ok by me, that way I can get 2 batches done at once..so instead of returning it I am going to keep it.
I am really excited to start making lots of cheese. I really wish there was more in the recipe booklet though, but was happy to see a cheesecake recipe without cream cheese(even my yogurt recipe book uses cream cheese in their yogurt cheesecake recipes)
This strainer also looks like it would be great for rinsing brined feta cheese too.

Customer Review: Easy to use and easy to clean.

I have had my yogurt maker for a few months now and am very pleased with it.
I make a batch of yogurt once a week. It took a while for me to find the right mix (even the brand of milk made a difference!) but now I get the same result each time.

It's only fault: The recipe included only fills each cup half way. I tried to double the batch to fill each cup, but it hasn't worked so far. I left the yogurt mix in the machine for up to 24 hours and it barely begins to solidify. I have tried several times and it just doesn't work. It's a bit deceiving.

I also have the yogurt cheese maker and I'm especially pleased with it. It's great for dips and for making a cream cheese like spread for toast or bagels. You can add anything you want to it.
