I am absolutely thrilled with the Cuisipro Donvier Elect. Yogurt Maker! I first learned of it when I read "Why French Women Don't Get Fat" and believed it was a good idea to have good yogurt everyday(as opposed to yogurt loaded with sugar). Finally I decided I needed to buy this machine so I could make my own yogurt, healthier and much cheaper! The only time in preperation comes in waiting for the milk to heat up on the stove to the proper temp, then let it cool down enough before adding the 'starter'-2T. of already-made yogurt. But it is kind of fun testing the temps. Then once the cups are filled and placed in the machine-thats it! Set the timer and the machine does the rest. I have used goats milk, cows 2% and 1%( I do not recommend the 1%-it doesnt set up well-but once stirred it is just fine). Also Donvier includes recipes for various goodies like Tzaziki and salad dressings-If you are serious about your health and eating natural food-buy one!Customer Review: It makes great Yogurt, however, the cup is too small

Friend told me: "Do not use instant milk". Try to use non-fat dry milk powder. That is why somebody can not make thicker yogurt. I ordered non-fat milk powder from seattle. I blend the milk powder with warmer water, easy to desovle the powder, then add more hot water until the water temperature reaches to 110 degree and add Yogurtmet. I also add Gelatine, powder Vanilla and stevia (sweetening) for desert yogurt. I successully made yogurt by my own. It is thick and declicious, I also made my own home-made cheese (use drainer from same manufacture) for sanwiches, also home-made salad dressing (plain yogurt with seasoning before draining). It is perfect!!!
Just the cup is too small, only 6 oz. One batch is not enough if you have more than 3 persons. It takes 12 hours each time. So if you have bigger family, do not select this merchandize. Also it is hard to pour the milk into the cups. However, the cheese drainer is so good!!!

I'm so happy I finally bought this. I've considered buying a yogurt maker for at least a decade. I love yogurt (hate drinking milk), but the store bought yogurt has so many additives. I was inspired by reading French Women Don't Get Fat and decided to give it a try. I never liked store bought plain yogurt and that's what kept me from ordering one before, but this homemade yogurt has such a clean fresh taste - it's wonderful! I bought a set of extra cups and made 2 batches in 2 days with organic nonfat milk & nonfat milk powder (haven't found organic nonfat milk yet). I also bought the yogurt cheese maker & can't wait to try that. Heating the milk is SIMPLE. Making the yogurt is a no brainer! My only complaint is I found if I do 8 cups as recommended and add the nonfat milk, I have some mixture leftover so I need to get my ratios correct, but I know I will with practice.

I have made my first batch of yogurt and the Cuisipro worked like a charm. I followed the instructions carefully, as suggested by other reviewers and other yogurt machine owners, and I can't wait to make my second batch today.
I used whole milk with powdered yogurt culture, and the yogurt was ready in 10 hours. Next time I will use some existing yogurt, or try greek yogurt. For flavoring, I just use a spoonful of organic strawberry preserves and it tastes so much better than supermarket varieties!!!
I will also experiment with skim milk and milk powder to see how that goes.
The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because of the jars, they really should be glass for this price! I bought it on amazon on sale, I only paid about $25 for the machine and the cultures. You can find a beautiful imported yogurt maker with glass jars for $40 at Williams-Sonoma. Otherwise, I am very happy!
Customer Review: Original and Replacement Both Defective

I ordered this yogurt maker based on the positive reviews written about this product. When I received mine, the Minute and Hour Set Buttons would not work. So I requested a replacement. I received the replacement in 2 days, I was planning to use the box of the replacement to send the original back. Well, the Replacement was defective also. The Minute Set Button worked fine, but the Hour Set Button, did not work correctly, sometimes it would work when pressed, but mostly didn't work when pressed.I would have to press it 5 or 6 times to get it to set 1 hour. I figured this would probably break sooner than later. So now I have two yogurt makers to send back. This is an inferior product as far as I am concerned and feel Amazon should review whether it should continue to be sold on the site. I am giving this product 1 star, it deserves zero stars since I never got to use it. I am disappointed.
