Customer Review: Got rid of my other cherry pitter

I got this one because it has a hole for the cherries to 'reside' in. Other cherry pitters just have a space so you have to place the cherry just right to get the center. Not a big deal, but still a bit of a hassle. The scoop feature really works for one hand operation too. just scoop up the cherry with the pitter- Cherry falls into the hole- and snap down- Repeat. couldn't be easier. And since there's no little case at the bottom to collect the pits it's easier to tell if the pit actually comes out either by putting your hand there and feeling the pits fall on your palm or by putting a cup underneath for the pits to collect so you can easily see each one come down. Although I find that the pit comes out on the first attempt 99% of the time anyway. The space saving red tail really works for saving space in a drawer too.
