I had been using my grandmother's pizzelle maker. I always burned myself trying to get the pizzelle off b/c they always stuck even though it was "seasoned". I also never knew for sure when the pizzelle were cooked thusly ruining some when I opened it too early or too late. This one heats up quick, has the indicator lights, and is wonderfully teflon coated! It was a breeze making pizzelle cannoli shells with it. The only beef I have with it is the ridiculous little spoon that came with it. That spoon is no good! I just used a regular teaspoon.Customer Review: Your friends and family will beg you to make more!

I found the Cuisinart Pizzelle Maker to be very easy to use, and also easy to clean! I had never made anything like these before, and I was making perfect cookies in no time! I am thrilled with this product, and would recommend it to anyone!
P.S. I modified the recipe that came with it, and got rave reviews! All I did was double the amount of the vanilla that the recipe called for, and I sifted the flour before adding it to the batter. This resulted in a much lighter, crispier cookie with a nice vanilla flavor.

I've only used this twice, but I have had perfect results each time. The pizzelles just slide off the cooking surface and clean up is no problem. The thing that has impressed me the most, however, is that I had sent a note to Cuisinart re: the complaints listed on this review site and they called me. The customer service rep said that the latch is not even sold separately, and that if there were any problems with it, it's under warranty. I was amazed that they would call and not just email me. I loved this Pizzelle Press! Having the red/green light feature is wonderful. Every pizzelle is cooked exactly the same. I was disappointed with the size of the pizzelle. I did not realize the cookie would be 4" rather than the standard 5" cookie. It is the perfect size for a small child but I like the larger cookie.
I hope to find the same press with the option of the 5" cookie. The press came with a recipe book, spoon and roller.
I would recommend the press and the pizzelles taste great!

The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars, was on reviewer's comment about the locking clip, I can see how it can break easily and I am always very careful with it. The size is compact and can fit anywhere on your counter, the cookie size is perfect, clean up with a damp paper towel, browning adjustment is great since I like mine crispy. I've used the dowel and filled them with pudding. Its so easy, there is just no excuse to not make them year round. For the price, this machine is great.
