Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Cuisinart WM-PZ2 Pizzelle Press

Customer Review: This is a GREAT little appliance!
Summary: 5 Stars

I remember back a long time ago preparing the batter for pizzelle's with a Italian Grandma and wondering where the heck you get one of thoses irons. She got hers in Italy! I recieved my Pizzelle press and started making them right away. It brought back such fond memories. This little press works great, heats up fast, and you can cook up a batch in no time. The little spoon you get with the press is just the right amount of batter to make the perfect pizzele. I like the recipes that are included in the user manual and tried them out and then started to add thing to the basic recipie like chopped up cherries or blue berrys. A little different from traditional pizzelle but great tasting. I think you would really enjoy this little press.

Customer Review: Perfect Pizzelles
Summary: 5 Stars

I recently purchased this iron because I was tired of paying what the grocery store wanted for them. I love it. I am able to make ice cream cones, bowls, and plain old cookies. I put off buying this iron for a long time because I did not want another useless appliance in my house. I purchased this from Amazon as a refurbished piece and it works perfectly. I use it at least once a week, if not for myself for my young son who loves them too! It has an adjustable iron so that you get the perfect cookie each time according to what you want. The recipes are great also.

It comes with a recipe book, spoon and wooden turning tool for making cones or rolled cookies. Oh! The cookie iron has a flower on

Customer Review: Thin Waffles
Summary: 3 Stars

I got my machine elsewhere. It would make more sense if the latch were to fall down instead of pulling up to lock the contraption. But aside from the awkward latch, which hasn't broken (fortunately), the pizzelle maker is excellent for not only smaller pizzelle cookies but also thin waffles. Making ice cream cones is very difficult due to the thicker cookie (than other pizzelle makers) and smaller size, but rolling cannoli should be easy. For folks who prefer crispier, thinner breakfast waffles (not cookies) in smaller sizes, this is a great machine. You can make a stack of whole grain waffles with a little coconut flour for fiber. I highly recommend it to people who dislike thick breakfast waffles.

Customer Review: Expect more from Cuisanart
Summary: 3 Stars

I've been eating pizzelles for years, and have made them a bunch of times on other presses. I bought this one because in my experience Cuisanart makes wonderful products. I am pretty disappointed. It's a decent product, but not nearly as good as it should be. The plates are nice, but the locking mechanism feels really cheesy and the temperature doesn't even come close to remaining constant. With other presses I could time each pizzelle to come out perfect, but with this press I have to keep lifting the lid or else some come out burnt, or some aren't cooked at all.

I wouldn't recommend this product if you're looking for a well producing machine. Buy something else.

Customer Review: don't waste your $$$
Summary: 1 Stars

I had this pizzelle press for 1 day, along with my original cast iron one. Making these cookies is very time consuming, especially if you double the batch as I do. I fugured, if I got a 2nd iron, I could get done in 1/2 the time.

I sprayed both irons with non-stick spray, then heated them up. Started making cookies on both irons, and, all cookies produced on this new iron stuck, and were a mess when you tried to pull them off the iron.

After 10 minutes, I unplugged it, let it cool, put it back in box, and threw out in trash.

I'm on the search again for another maker, but my preference is the cast iron one, rather than non-stick.
