This toaster wasn't my first choice, but since all the other better toasters weren't fitting my space I ended up buying the cuisinart tob-50. It toasts very well, but I'm having a little trouble with the door from the very beginning. When I close it it makes a clicking sound. Secondly, the interior of this toaster is really short. The width is average but the interior height isn't. Also, I'm not crazy with the fact that you could only pull the crumb tray from the back, it's rather inconvenient. All in all, for me it worked OK since my counter space was limited and wanted the stainless steel finish to much the rest of my appliances.Customer Review: love this toaster oven, amazon's shipping packaging was excellent

After being so discouraged with black and decker's quality of toaster ovens getting worse with each one we bought, we decided to upgrade to this Cuisinart. It is excellent, I'm sure we will have it for many years to come, easy to use, easy to clean and toasts etc. everything the way it is meant to be done. Our oven came so well packaged, that there was no chance that it could be damaged so don't let the one review stop you from ordering from Amazon. I almost went out and bought it at a store due to that review but decided to take my chances because the price was so good and free shipping and handling. My former impression of toaster ovens has always been of those small, greasy, very dirty little appliances that nobody really needs. But when our oven died and we were not ready to buy a new one, we had to have something that would bake - based on other amazon reviews and the sale price, I chose this Cuisinart.
It heats quickly, does a nice job, and looks good. But what really amazes me is how easy it is to clean!
A simple wipe removes most any drippy cheese or crumbs. We still don't have a regular oven but when we do get one, I know that I will still use the Cuisinart for a lot of cooking.

We had one of these for just short of its 3 year guarantee period, within which time the paint on the interior walls was all coming off, and the door hinge stopped working right. Cuisinart honored the guarantee and sent us a new one, which we've had for just a few weeks. It really works great in terms of even baking and has enabled us to use our full-size oven much less, and it toasts well. It looks great and is easy to clean. I'm hoping they've solved the paint issue, which made me nervous, and that the door will hold up this time....but having read the other reviews here, I guess I won't get my hopes up!Customer Review: Cuisenart toaster oven junk

Have never had such a poorly made small appliance. This Cuisinart toaster oven has been a problem since I bought it. Toasts uneven, the door has to be slammed in order to close. The hinges recess into the walls of the unit making it impossible to remove whatever is causing it to stick. Now tonight the back wall coating is peeling off. You would think with all these bad reviews this company would do the right thing and remove this product or redesign it. It's all about the ole corp..
I will never buy this brand again simply because we have a company that is looking the other way.
