Customer Review: Mediocre.. but at least it is pretty!

We received this blender as a wedding gift and kept it with the hopes of stretching its uses to include making things like hummus, dips, and dressing- to save from cluttering our cabinets with a food processor AND a blender. We have since purchased a food processor...
As many have mentioned- the blade housing is less than perfectly designed. Out of the box, it was obvious that the item had been returned and resold to us by the department store- the blade housing was cracked before our first use (BIG mess ensued). We called the product support number included in the manual, and with great ease we received a new blade and new rubber ring in the mail; at no cost to us.
This blender handles smoothies, milkshakes, frozen drinks, and even pesto/dressings with ease. We have not managed to crack the blade housing ourselves- I guess we are light-duty blenders. But, from our experiences with customer service, cracked blade housings in the future will not be total losses, only slight annoyances.
PROs-
-Attractive design- actually looks decent to leave out on the counter.
-5 power options, plus the ability to pulse at each power level.
-Easy to clean, as blenders go. Every part comes off- including rubber sealing/gasket ring between pitcher and blade housing.
-Removable measuring cup in lid allows for easy additions- including oil while making dressings. Doubling as a 2oz measuring cup saves unnecessary dirty dishes.
-Great product warranty and customer service from manufacturer- ease of replacing parts with no questions asked.
CONs-
-Apparent blade housing issues- easy to crack if you are not careful.
-Larger footprint than I would have hoped- too tall to fit in my cupboard without dismounting the pitcher.
-Not recommended for food processor-like jobs- including hummus.
-Doesn't chop ice as well as the NinjaEuro-Pro Ninja Master Prep Blender and Food Processor, Blue (but at least it looks better while doing it)
Overall- I would highly recommend this blender to the average user.
Although it is probably powerful enough, Smoothie-a-day people will probably want to seek out a machine with higher-quality parts.
