Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Cuisinart PSC-400 Stainless Steel 4-Quart Programmable Slow CookerCustomer Review: excellent small volume slow cooker Summary: 5 Stars
wanted a smaller slow cooker for just the wife and myself. checked out several brands and read all the reviews. was concerned by the comments about cooking temperatures and boiling. yes it achieves a slow boil occasionally while on the low setting. pot has never boiled over, cooking temps and times work well with cookbook instructions (others as well as Cuinsinart) and size is perfect for 2 or 3 people. right now ours is full of beef ribs which will be fully cooked and warm when i get home from work. i'll put the vegetables on the stove and dinner is at 6. looking forward to it again.

Cuisinart PSC-400 4 Quart Programmable Slow Cooker, Brushed Stainless Steel
I ordered this Slow Cooker through amazon.com a few years ago, and I have to say, it was money well spent.
I love the fact that once your food is finished cooking, it automatically changes from cook to keep warm.
It has a timer, that you can time your cooking up to 8 hours.
And a low & high feature.
The 4 qt. is perfect for my husband and myself.
Customer Review: Quite pleased Summary: 4 Stars
I have to say I was a little concerned about trying out a 4 quart pot. But, since we generally cook only for the 2 of us it made a lot of sense. So, after reading through the reviews I decided to try out the cuisinart slow cooker and I have to say that I am quite happy. The heat is fairly constant but there is quite a big difference between high and low settings (a medium would be good as opposed to the even lower simmer.) It is easy to clean and to store (especially with the way the electric cord rolls back up. Altogether a nice little package.
Customer Review: Rusty screws dilute Cuisinart brand Summary: 2 Stars
This product could be great and last many years but there are 4 screws in the bottom of the warming well that are made of some metal that corrodes and rusts. I love the thing and would be happy with it but wonder by why they would use such bad materials that will wreck the whole device way sooner that necessary. For the minor cost of using 4 better screws, however many thousands of these made will end up in landfills, rather than being useful. Cuisinart seems to be really slipping in quality control.
Customer Review: Great except for a couple issues Summary: 3 Stars
For the most part, this works as it should, and it makes awesome chili/etc.
The only issues I have run into are with the fake chrome handles and the plastic on the lid. The stainless looks great, but the handles are painted plastic, and the plastic peels right off. It looks awful after 1 run. As for the lid handle, the plastic on that melted after one use. Lastly, the lid doesn't fit very snugly into the base.
It works great, but the flaws make this a so-so item
