Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Cuisinart MCP-12 MultiClad Pro Stainless Steel 12-Piece Cookware Set

Customer Review: Absolutely the best!!
Summary: 5 Stars

So many people have already created great reviews of this product, so I won't rehash those. I just wanted to say that the quality for the price with this cookware is just increadible! The moment I opened the box and took out a pot I was shocked at how nice these pans are. I really like the lightly brushed staneless look on the outside that runs up the sides and stops about an inch from the top where the rest is polished staneless. So nice! Additionally, the lids have the "Cuisinart" name stamped in the handles. Also, the rivits on the lids and handles have a nice finished look; better than the Allclad I think.

I busted out the small sauce pan to cook some hot cereal for my son and it cooked so evenly and quicker than normal due to the 3-ply full aluminum core that runs up the sides of the pot. I can't rave enough about this cookware. Seriously, if you are on the fence about whether or not to get this cookware, do yourself a favor and GET THIS COOKWARE!!! You will NOT be dissapointed!!

Customer Review: Why did I hesitate?
Summary: 5 Stars

I was a little uneasy about purchasing stainless after using non-stick for years. The arrival of our new glass-top stove forced me to find a replacement for my old pans that did the "tilt-a-whirl" if I wasn't holding onto the handles. I did some research online and settled on this reasonably-priced Cuisinart set. I've been using it now for a few months and love it! I haven't used the steamer basket yet but the other pans I use every time I prepare a meal. The pans have enough weight to keep them in place on the stove but aren't so heavy as to make them awkward. I do have to remind myself to go slow. If the burners are set too high I will have sticking. Even that isn't a big deal, though. Let the pan cool down, add water, let soak, and wash. Sometimes I use a little non-abrasive cleanser for extra polish on the inside. The lid handles do get hot so I keep a couple of potholders handy. Overall I'm very happy with this attractive set. And I don't have to worry about a coating coming off in our food!

Customer Review: Frying with 10" skillet
Summary: 2 Stars

I just purchased a 12 piece set of multi clad pro and decided to test the 10" skillet out on frying an egg.I let the pan get hot on a medium heat on a gas stove.I tested the heat by put a drop of water in and watched it dance.Than I put about a tbsp on canola oil in the pan and moved the oil over the whole surface including up the sides The egg fried OK so I was sort of satisfied. The big squawk I have is cleaning the pan.I wiped the oil out but the big problem is the brown sticky residue that was left.I put warm water and dish detergent in it and let it soak.I than used a blue scotch brite pad to try to remove the residue but it is still there.I am not willing to spend an hour of more to clean a frying pan. With my cast iron pans I just wipe it out than put some water in the pan and bring it to a slow boil run a brush around it to knock of any residue pour to water out and dry with a paper towel. What I need is some advice in cleaning the multi clad or they will be going back.

Customer Review: Cuisinart MCP
Summary: 4 Stars

I purchased my Cuisinart MultiClad cookware set as I've been a chef in the yachting industry for years and have personally worked with MultiClad pots and found them the best compared with other venues of pots (non-stick, Calphon, etc) I knew MultiClad were terribly expensive but came across an unbiased review on this Cuisinart set. The price is very reasonable and I can not see any difference in quality compared with the more expensive brand. I have been using them for a month now and really enjoy them. I would rate them 4.5 as my only complaint is that 2 of the pots discoloured inside and I have never put heat above medium high under them and always had liquid or food in them......no preheating an empty pot. I use a glass top stove. The discolouration does not effect the cooking quality of the pots at all, I can just be a bit fussy at trying to keep my purchases looking new as long as possible. I'm very happy with them and will be purchasing extra pots to complete the set.

Customer Review: Slippery eggs!
Summary: 5 Stars

I have had our new Pro set for little over a week now. Well boxed on delivery with no blemishes. Each pot/pan had an amazing shine. Very nice.
I started off with bacon. Low heat just under half (gas range). No issues with sticking and cooked well. I did not use any oils to prevent sticking. Scrambled eggs came next. Low heat just under half, I waited for the pan to come up to heat and added a tab of butter. Small sizzle and then added the eggs. No stick again. Wow, feeling good at this point. Now eggs over easy. Same thing, low heat, once the pan was up to heat added butter, once the butter has melted and had a slight sizzle to it in went the egg. WOO HOO! NO STICK. And clean up was so easy as long as you did it right away after cooking. It required a bit more elbow grease if the pan was cold. But really nothing more than most pans.
All good and loving the pans. Next was French toast. No issues there. Fried chicken at night. Again no issues. Love these pans!
