Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Cuisinart ICE-45 Mix It In Soft Serve 1-1/2-Quart Ice Cream Maker, WhiteCustomer Review: I love it !! Summary: 5 Stars
My husband I got this as a wedding gift , and after reading some of the reviews I was a little scared about using it .... But , its wonderful !!!We have a normal freezer that was set on cold and after about 15 hours the freezing bowl was frozen solid and ready to use.
It took about 25 minutes for the ice cream to reach the right consistancy, and it tastes pretty good , though we are still trying to get the receipes just right. So I would recomend it to anyone who has fun playing with ingredients and likes ice-cream.
Customer Review: Fabulous sorbets! Summary: 4 Stars
Bought this at a kitchen store for a lot more money- should have checked here first! My initial attempt was a lemon-berry sorbet, modifying a recipe I found on the internet. It turned out wonderfully, though it doesn't make much. As recommended, I had my ingredients very cold (used frozen berries in a blender with simple syrup, then strained), and it took about 15 minutes. Getting ready for the chocolate ice cream in the recipe book now. I only gave this 4 stars because the possibilities haven't been fully explored yet!
Customer Review: Easy to use and easy to clean. Love it. Summary: 5 Stars
I purchased this item because we love ice cream and frozen yogurt, but want the fresh taste of homemade. We also like to have the option to reduce the sugar or use lower fat ingredients. I have made four batches thus far with great success. As others have mentioned in their reviews, getting the bowl completely frozen is the key. It is a cinch to put together and just as easy to disassemble and clean. The ice cream is soft serve, my favorite kind and yummy. Really good product, definitely recommend.
Customer Review: love Cuisinart but not this model Summary: 2 Stars
It makes good ice cream but won't dispense unless the ice cream is just the right consistency. Too thick and you have to scoop. We never could get the sprinkles dispenser to work. After making 3 batches of ice cream we only got about 3 or 4 cones and had to scoop the rest. I took it back and got the 2 qt Cuisinart from Sams for $59. My daughter bought the 1 1/2 qt ICE-20 model for $49 and loves it. They all make great ice cream but why pay more for bells and whistles that don't work very well.
Customer Review: TOO GOOD Summary: 5 Stars
I purchased this as a gift for my sister. It turned out that this is one of her top gifts of all time. She loves soft serve and for the little bit that she would get from McDonalds, it was too much. She took some to work and now every time she goes people are always checking the frig to see if she bought any. I was really happy to find something that she truly wanted. She said that it was so easy to use and she has made a large number of variations. She said it was absolutely Perfect!!!
