Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Cuisinart GTF Gold Tone Filter

Customer Review: Great filter, saves money in the long run...
Summary: 5 Stars

So big woop, you have to clean it after every use. I have to pump gas in my car every week but I don't complain about those things. It takes 1 minute out of my life to clean the thing in the sink, and in the long run saves me about $30.00 a year on paper filters. PLUS, gold filters make the coffee taste better than standard filters. The gold actually traps certain particles that can make coffee taste metallic or bitter.

I would recommend this to anyone who gets a Cuisinart coffee maker like I did.

Customer Review: Disappointed
Summary: 1 Stars

Sad to say, when I opened the custom Cuisinart Gold Tone Filter I had purchased, I found one identical to the one that comes in the box with the coffee maker. The problem, no fill marks to indicate 4, 8, 12 cup measures. I returned it and am surprised that a company like Cuisinart can't make a filter with these markings like Krups, Braun and others. How much more can it cost to manufacture the filter with those markings???? So I am disaappointed with the coffee maker and the filter and Cuisinart in general!

Customer Review: useless waste of my money
Summary: 1 Stars

I purchased a Cuisinart automatic grind and brew coffee maker and was encourged (people who bought this coffee maker also bought) , to also buy a gold tone filter to go along with it , the coffee already came with a gold tone filter and the extra filter I was encouraged to buy does not fit in the cofffee maker I purchased , a waste of more than $10.00 , I am not pleased !!!!Cuisinart GTF Gold Tone Filter

Customer Review: Good substitute!
Summary: 5 Stars

I generally prefer paper filters, but I love having the gold tone filter on hand for those days that I run out of paper filters! I also find that I tend to alternate day-to-day. I'll use the gold filter because it's easy and I keep it in my coffee maker, but when it's dirty or in my dishwasher, then I default to my paper filters. For that reason, I love the convenience and options it allows me, but overall, it works great and I have no complaints; good purchase!

Customer Review: Dual function
Summary: 5 Stars

I use this in my Cuisinart coffee maker and have an extra that I use to filter deep fryer grease so I can reuse it more times to make buffalo wings. Just put the filter in a funnel and it works great. It's best for coffe though, because it allows all the oils to pass through the filter providing a very flavorful cup of coffee. I've compared this to using a paper filter in the same machine and the paper filter makes Dunkin Donuts coffee taste like Folgers.
