Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Cuisinart DTC-975N Programmable Automatic Brew-and-Serve 12-Cup Thermal Coffeemaker, White

Customer Review: Totally disappointed, returned after 1 week
Summary: 1 Stars

I read the other reviews and was very excited to get this coffee maker. I was particularly excited by the review where the woman said her coffee stayed hot even after she returned from church group.

I have had the opposite experience. The coffee isn't even that hot from the first pour and 1 hour later, I'm back to microwaving it. Another nit is that it pours so slowly from the decanter, but obviously, if it was hot, I would ignore this minor problem.

This machine is heading back to Amazon today and now I need to research its replacement.

Customer Review: I love this coffeemaker!!!
Summary: 5 Stars

I wasn't sure about this coffeemaker after reading all the reviews. Some loved it, while other were not so thrilled. I really like thermal coffeemakers because I can't stand the taste of coffee that has been sitting on the burner. I've had this coffeemaker for about 3 weeks and have not experienced any of the problems that other customers had. The coffee stays hot for hours. I don't mind the beeps that signals that the coffee is ready. It's nice if you are in another room. Overall, I really recommend this maker. It makes great coffee that stay HOT!!!

Customer Review: Fantastic coffeemaker
Summary: 5 Stars

I bought this coffeemaker over 4 years ago and after daily use it is having some trouble so I ordered another one. I have rarley been this happy with any small appliance. The coffee brews quickly, comes out piping hot, and stays that way for 6 hours or more in the insulated carafe. Although it may be the Starbuck's Houseblend beans I use, EVERYONE who tastes my coffee says it's wonderful. There may a reason Starbuck's has chosen to sell this coffeemaker in their stores this year. For the price I doubt you can find anything better.

Customer Review: Rubber tips stain butcher block counters
Summary: 3 Stars

We bought the Cuisinart to replace another similar coffeemaker that finally died. The Cuisinart is a fine coffeemaker and we like its programmable feature. The only problem we have had is with the four rubber tips on the base. We recently had butcher block counters installed in our kitchen and the rubber tips left brown spots on our counter-top that we have not been able to remove. I wrote to Cuisinart about this problem and am still waiting for an answer. For now, we have the coffeemaker sitting on a metal sheet.

Customer Review: Waiting for the unexpected?
Summary: 4 Stars

Have read most of the pros and cons in the buyers review section and felt the thermal coffeemaker was worth a try. I was tired of transferring fresh coffee to two thermos bottles.
I love this product. I agree the cap can be cantankerous to line up. But the coffee it makes is excellent and retains its heat for a long time. I will keep in mind the review about the button under the filter to prevent overflowing. I like the longer pouring lip versus that found on other carafes.
