Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Cuisinart DLC-4CHB Mini-Prep Plus 4-Cup Food Processor, Brushed Stainless Steel

Customer Review: Not worth the money
Summary: 1 Stars

I found that this machine did not chop very well or evenly. After two uses, the motor stopped working (and all I was chopping was a can of tomatoes!). I exchanged it for a new unit since I couldn't get a refund, but only used it a couple times over the next year when my smaller machine was too small for the job. I pulled it out last night for it's third or fourth use... And once again the motor was burned out! Definitely not worth the money or hassle.

Customer Review: Great processor until it broke
Summary: 3 Stars

We really loved this mini processor for making baby foods. It's the perfect size and everything for it, until it broke. It's wonderful that there is a security measure in place that will not allow the processor to start until a plastic piece that's a part of the lid snaps into place. Unfortunately, the plastic piece is not very durable and snapped off the lid while we were cleaning it in hot water. Now the item is not usable at all, which is too bad.

Customer Review: Money Well Spent
Summary: 4 Stars

Compact and perfect. There are only two of us in the house so I don't cook really elaborate meals. This little cuisinart is perfect for us. It has a four cup capacity which really if you think about it, is more than plenty. It does only have one blade and two settings, chop or grind, but I've found by tapping the button rather than holding it down you can pretty much chop, shred, grind just about anything. Well worth the money. I would reccomend it.

Customer Review: great little time saver!
Summary: 5 Stars

I'm not a gadget person but I really got tired of chopping chicken for salads. What took me 30 minutes by hand took about 1 minute with this machine! True the chrome is plastic, but I don't care, it washes up in a jiffy and it's small enough to fit under my kitchen cabinets which are quite low. I cut my chicken into 1 inch pieces so it will cook quicker and that worked fine in the machine. I just filled it about 1/2 full and let it chop!

Customer Review: 4 Cups is Smaller than You Think
Summary: 4 Stars

I really have no issues with this product but wanted to caution you that 4 cups is pretty small. I've "outgrown" mine in about 10 uses. It's good for homemade pestos and very small batches of pastry crusts and biscuits but any more than 2 Cups of flour and the other ingredients and it struggles. I've started processing buscuits in batches or doing half with a pastry cutter and half in the processor but the extra steps are annoying.
