Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Cuisinart DLC-2ABC Mini-Prep Plus Food Processor, Brushed Chrome

Customer Review: The Mini Prep Plus Cuisinart
Summary: 4 Stars

This is an amazing little machine, easy to assemble, easy to operate. The instructions are very specific and clear. I live alone and seldom cook for more than 2 people, so it's ideal for me. For anyone who regularly cooks for a family, though, is might prove too small and limited in function. (It doesn't puree, for example;I have a blender, though, so this doesn't matter). I highly recommend it as a no-nonsense machine for small jobs. (I ordered it from Amazon; it came within 4 days.)

Customer Review: Nice, but loud, little food processor
Summary: 4 Stars

I got this unit a few days ago. Overall, I'm quite happy with it. The design is top-notch and it's just the right size for one or two people. It grates and chops very well and I plan to use it regularly. It is also very easy to clean, which is a plus. I have to take one star off because it gets very loud. It's tolerable, but it makes a lot more noise than I would have expected from a small machine. Other than that it's a great unit. Recommended, if you can put up with the noise.

Customer Review: Worth every cent!
Summary: 5 Stars

I previously purchased a Kitchenaid mini food chopper and had to send it back, TWICE. After reading reviews, it seems that many other consumers had the same problem.

I looked up the Quisinart mini-prep and ordered it. It is FANTASTIC. I haven't had any problems. It works everytime and perfectly.

I ended up purchasing another one for my mother and she loves it too.

It's worth every cent...Great product, you won't be disappointed.

Customer Review: Works great, but way too small
Summary: 3 Stars

The processor worked great but was much smaller than I anticipated. In making hummus was only able to process 1/2 can of garbanzo beans at a time. When processing the beans, the motor seemed to slow down appreciably (this was relieved by adding more olive oil to the mixture). Like I said, works fine but was much smaller than I thought it would be so it's hard to scrape out the bowl without taking off the blade assembly. Would be fine for smaller batches, like garlic puree.

Customer Review: Nice But Broke Quickly After Warranty Period
Summary: 2 Stars

Worked decently within the limitations I expected from a mini processor. I found this a useful tool for some tasks which normally require a blender or full sized processor.

However, soon after the warrantly period expired I burned out the engine doing some very basic processing work. I was surprised how easy it is to completely ruin the product via any extended period of light usage.

I recommend avoiding this processor and other Cuisinart processors made in China.
