Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Cuisinart DFP-14BCN 14-Cup Food Processor, Brushed Stainless Steel

Customer Review: Wonderful and quiet
Summary: 5 Stars

I spent a lot of time researching food processors before I bought this one (due to the price...ouch). I definitely made the correct decision. I'm a vegetarian, so I chop a lot of fruits and veggies every day. This machine is very powerful and never has a problem cutting through anything I put in it. It is also very very quiet. My son and his fiance came over the other day to make relish. They are in love with it too and plan to "steal" it when my back is turned. Another benefit is that the old 7cup food processor blades (that you can get on ebay) fit perfectly. I got the full set and can now cut things as thin as tissue paper, into thick slices, or french fries. Lastly, it handles bread dough very well (although I prefer doing bread dough by hand or by bread machine.)

Customer Review: Get ready to replace $70 of parts every year
Summary: 1 Stars

First - Cuisinart has the worst customer support I've encountered lately. If you should need parts for this, and try to order them, you will encounter a slow-as-molassas and confusing website with incorrect photographs and descriptions, persistant backorders, long hold times, and telephone representatives who really don't give a darn.

I am not basing this on a single call I was unsatisfied with, rather a series of them, all with different representatives.

Our unit is used lightly (1-2 times per week to chop potatoes, onions, and the like, but the plastic (lexan?) portions are incredibly fragile. We are not the only ones - the plastic pusher for the item above is backordered SEVEN weeks.

The Kitchen Aid Pro Line is better.

Customer Review: Cuisinart Messed up and Unreasonable
Summary: 5 Stars

Received my DFP-14BCN Processor with 2 slicer blades and no Grater Blade
E-Mailed cuisinart customer service- No reply after 4 business days, Rude
Called Customer service- they said nothing they could do. It was Amazon's problem. Thankfully Amazon took care of it. They gave me 3 options I chose $20 credit. I ordered the part from Smallappliance.com. I also ordered a 3 disk kit, I wanted the french fry cutter. Well sealed in Cuisinart's factory box' just like the processor, was no french fry cutter. Smallappliance said return it and they would ship another. I haven't received it as of now, it should be here next week. I like Cuisinart's products, but will think twice about buying their products again.

Customer Review: The Workhorse!
Summary: 5 Stars

I've never had a real food processor before. I've had a mini processor and an attachment that goes with my blender but they just couldn't handle the larger jobs. I do lots of vegetarian meals where I need to grind nuts, make hummus and pulverize legumes into sauces. I probably use this two to three times a week and it can buzz through anything I put in the bowl. No leaking, rattling or problems. Cleanup is easy enough. It is a large processor and a little too big for me to tote in and out of the cupboard every time I need it - so it sits on the counter and does fit under the cabinets but I have to pull it out in order to put food in so keep in mind you need a little counter space. Happy processing!

Customer Review: Oddly enough.......
Summary: 5 Stars

I'm a professional chef, but I've made do for years with a Black and Decker food processor at home, while using the far sturdier Cuisinart or Robocoup at work. Maybe it wasn't a big deal because I work pretty fast with a knife so I really don't use any food processor very much, but I finally took the plunge and went first class, the Cuisinart. The B&D worked great, and at <$40 bucks 10 years ago, I've gotten more than my money's worth and still felt it had enough life to pass it along to a friend, but just looking at the stainless steel Cuisinart sitting on my counter makes me happy. If it is anywhere near the equal of the model I have at the restaurant, it will last forever, and look good too!
