I'll be honest...I never even knew my coffee maker had a filter until a couple years after I had it. Once I figured it out, I bought these and replaced my filter. Honestly, I can't taste a difference. I'm sure it does something to filter the water. Hopefully it takes out some of the impurities. We have good tasting water where I live so maybe thats why I don't notice anything. Whatever the case, these worked as a good replacment.Customer Review: Dave

Have been using for a few weeks and thus far would say it has worked as advertised. Some of the other reviews addressed some grounds getting through the filter if you get the screen vice a paper filter and we have used the screen and would agree there is some grounds that make it through so be aware if you go this route. Other than that I like the way it pours realtive to my old pot which had a tendency to run down the pot.Customer Review: Great filter!

I have well water, and have a water purification system in place. Nonetheless, I gave these filters a try, to see if it would reduce mineral build up, and if it made the coffee taste differently. Not only has mineral build up markedly slowed down, the coffee tastes MUCH better with this in the coffee-maker! The length of time between inserting new water filters in your machine will depend on the quality of your water. You will know when to change them, because your coffee will start to taste . . .not as good!
This product is easy to use, and the retailer I purchased it from had a good price for it.

This item is neccessary to keep your water fresh for good tasting coffee. I went too long once and the paper eroded to the point where charcoal was getting into water. So now I put a reminder on my calendar to change the filter. Requires one and you get a spare when ordering. Item is a dollar cheaper than Lowe's. Of course no trip to store and state tax is a plus to order it from Amazon.
