I was looking for a new funnel thing for my Cuisinart coffee maker and came across this filter. I have been using this maker for 4 years and never knew about this filter. My maker has never had one installed and it has been making great pots of coffee and tea for many years. I am looking forward to stepping up with this filter. By the way; Cuisinart products have been a beacon of quality in a world of junk. I threw away 3 coffee makers before I found this one. Have the grind and brew coffee maker, and it "will" work without them, and we already have filtered water available. But I added the filter in - and low and behold, the coffee is even smoother! I did check the prices locally, since shipping bascially doubles the cost if you are only buying two (I didn't need anything else to combine from the vendor). I found them for the basic price at our local BB&B... But I'll come back here to order the set of 12 now that I know I "love" them!Customer Review: Cuisinart Water Filters

This is a manufacturer's dream product providing them with continuing after market sales. I am not certain the filters work but I think so. We have excellent quality mountain water but can detect a hint of chlorine odor as it exits the faucet. I do not detect any chlorine affect in the brewed coffee and am sufficiently confident this charcol based filter is doing its job. The retail pricing is way too high so I went to Amazon and found a very good deal on multiple units.Customer Review: Water filters *do* make a difference

I left my water filters unchanged for toooooo long (over a year). I can definitely taste the difference and am putting a reminder on my calendar to change the filter regularly.
They're not cheap I guess, but if you use good coffee, why would you want it to taste like something ground you buy in a can? And if you use ground coffee from a can (some of which I like so I'm not slamming it), why wouldn't you want it to taste as good as possible?

I did not taste any difference. This is just charcoal/paper. I would advise you to be suspicious of these reviewers...looks like the same type of reviewers. Probably the seller here or on Ebay. They get their friends to do reviews to sell these overpriced filters. If you buy these you might as well go to Starbucks for your coffee and over pay there too.
PS: I do love the coffee Maker though. I just bought my second one here on Amazon.
