Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Cuisinart DCC-RWF1 Replacement Coffeemaker Water Filters, Set of 2

Customer Review: Works in Kenmore Coffee Makers
Summary: 3 Stars

We bought a Kenmore coffee maker at Sears. It recently started displaying a replace filter message. I went to Sears and the moron who works there said they didn't sell filters for coffee makers. I then verified that they sell the coffee maker, the coffee maker uses a filter, it displays a message to replace the filter yet I can't buy the filter to replace it.

She looked at me with the blankest stare I've ever gotten. Obviously she couldn't comprehend the words that were coming out of my mouth. Maybe they do sell these at Sears but I was so pissed they hired this lady I left.

So, I went home, looked online and saw that these filters are the same as the Kenmore ones and so ordered them and sure enough it fits in the little basket (maybe Cuisinart makes Kenmore coffee makers or maybe it's just a standard or good design/thought).

Customer Review: If you love really good coffee, you need these filters.
Summary: 5 Stars

One reviewer said if you already filter your water you don't need these. Well, I understand their thinking and appreciate the reasoning. I disagree, however. I love really good coffee. I grind each pot fresh. I buy the best beans I can and everything I use to create my drink is the best. I use PUR filters to filter all my water. But I take it a step further and use these little gems to filter the water yet again in my coffee maker. Is it overkill? Well, you be the judge. To me, it's not at all.

These filters do a wonderful job of helping you achieve a perfect cup of coffee. And the price listed above is the best I've found --- Abes gives great service if you buy from them. I buy three boxes (six filters) at a time. That generally last a year.

Highly recommended.

Customer Review: Water Filters for Cuisinart Coffee Maker
Summary: 5 Stars

This package consists of two replacement water filters for the Cuisinart Coffee Maker which we purchased June 2010. The filters contain charcoal and are easy to replace and safe to use. I highly recommend using and replacing these filters on a regular basis, we find that the filter definitely separates unseen micro-impurities from the water before the coffee is brewed. And even though we have well water and are lucky to have a clean and healthy supply, we have still noticed a difference in the taste and aroma of the coffee. Charcoal filters are natural and extremely effective. We find this product to work surprisingly well, quality made and priced accurately. Customer Review: Great Tasting Coffee Needs Great Tasting Water !
Summary: 5 Stars

I purchased the Cuisinart Coffee Maker that uses these filters. I love the coffee maker...excellent quality. I used to buy only bottled water to use in my coffee maker so I didn't have bad tasting coffee and it doesn't leave hard water sediment in the coffee maker itself. These filters work as well as any bottled water...coffee tastes great and no sediment in the coffee maker! Charcoal filters are wonderful for good tasting water. I had a whole house filter installed in my new home that filters the water directly from the well as it enters the house. No odors, no bad taste, and NO hard water rings in the toilet or bathtub....the power of charcoal is the reason.....I have retired and no longer live in the home, but thankfully these types of charcoal filters are available for our appliances!!!

Customer Review: Waste Of Money If You Already Filter Your Water
Summary: 1 Stars

I decided to stop using these expensive filters. I already have a Brita charcoal activated filter and use that filtered water directly into my Cuisinart. No problem and very good coffee. When I was using the small Cuisinart filters, I experienced a lot of problems with slow water feed resulting in steam and other problems. I decided, after spending some $16 on filters over a period of a year, that I was just wasting money on these filters. I cleaned the coffee maker after I stopped using the filters, am getting excellent coffee and no more slow water feed and a fine running coffee maker. The coffee tastes as good or better. But, please note that I am using filtered water - just not filtering it in the coffee maker.
