Customer Review: Flimsy plastic hinge

The only problem I have with this is that the lid is hard to remove. In fact, this was a replacement I bought because the hinges of the lid on the carafe that came with my coffeemaker broke so easily. I put a note on this one to please not remove it at all, but it makes washing it more difficult.

Black 12-Cup Replacement Carafe for DCC-270Equipped with Cuisinart's special lid that reduces oxygen intake so coffee stays fresh longer, this 12-cup, tempered-glass carafe is beautifully shaped and thoughtfully designed. Calibrations, for example, are marked near the handle for easy reference when filling the carafe to a desired level. The stay-cool plastic handle fits the hand comfortably, and the plastic rim prevents chipping. The carafe fits any Cuisinart 12-cup coffeemaker except one designed to hold a thermos carafe. --Fred Brack
