If you own the Cuisinart DCC-450 black coffeemaker and need to replace the carafe, well, this is it. Why would you need to replace a stainless steel carafe? They don't shatter or crack the way a glass carafe might. But, as we found out 3 months after using the original product, the seam between the steel body and the plastic cap can leak whenever you pour. We've had the replacement for 6 months and it hasn't leaked yet. I question whether steel is as good an insulator as glass, but if you pour your coffee right away and don't grab the carafe by the bottom (duh), you should be fine.Customer Review: BAIT AND SWITCH

DISHONEST. I RECEIVED THE GLASS CARAFFE. WHICH THEY HAVE DONE BEFORE TO OTHER PEOPLE. ITS THE OLD BAIT AND SWITCH,IN THE OLD WEST THEY USED TO HANG PEOPLE FOR THIS. YOU ORDER AND THEY SEND YOU SOMETHING DIFFERENT AND HOPE YOU DON'T MAIL IT BACK. DON'T FALL FOR IT. DON'T BUY FROM THESE PEOPLE.Customer Review: cuisinart 4 cup replacement

I thought this one was going to be stainless steel like my last one but it was glass. Which is fine. I think I like the glass better - easier to clean. Works great and it was shipped out fast.
