Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Cuisinart DCC-450 4-Cup Coffeemaker with Stainless Steel Carafe, WhiteCustomer Review: Don't Buy- Bad Carafe! Summary: 1 Stars
My mom bought 3 of these for Christmas: one for me, my sister, and my grandma. The carafe on ALL THREE of them spills when you pour from it. It somehow leaks sneakily down the front as you pour. We've all had the problem, so it's unlikely a user error. I've checked to make sure the top is snapped on correctly, I've tried pouring at different speeds; nothing helps. My mom also thought they were insulated when she bought it, but it's not. I'm unhappy with the product and would not recommend it.
Customer Review: Cuisinart "Drips-A-Lot" Coffee Maker Summary: 1 Stars
I purchased this item as a gift for a friend with red accents in her Miami kitchen. It makes good coffee, but there is no way to pour a cup without several drops of coffee sliding from the spout down the side of the carafe and dripping off the bottom onto your counter, floor, or other surface. This happens irregardless of how full or empty the carafe is, or how fast or slow one pours. One is constantly cleaning the counter or floor of coffee drips! Not recommended for this reason.
Customer Review: The little coffee maker that couldn't Summary: 1 Stars
It is cute, but it spills and it's defective. The water spills while trying to fill the maker. The coffee spills when trying to fill the cup. The so-called plate warmer is more of a burner. It doesn't keep the coffee warm as much as it burns it if you don't use it in 15 minutes. But now, after only four months, it doesn't work at all. The automatic timer turns the machine off after 3 seconds and that's being generous. Don't buy it for yourself... Don't buy it as a gift...
Customer Review: Small, but good value Summary: 4 Stars
The total volume is 16 ounces (two cups). This is okay. I don't like drinking old over-warmed coffee, anyway.
The automatic shutoff doesn't allow for over-warmed coffee or burned out elements. The stainless steel carafe means less glass carafe breakage and replacement hassle. I have had it for just a coupe weeks.
Even though the plastic lid over the pot seems a little fragile and a little complicated, the DCC "4"-Cup is a good value.
Customer Review: Good small basic coffee maker Summary: 4 Stars
Usually smaller, basic products are made/designed more cheaply. That's not the case here. This product has done just what I wanted it to, without the frills (do we really need a clock on everything?) or excess capacity of other coffee makers. I haven't had the problem with spilling water/coffee that others have - perhaps Cuisinart redesigned the lid? I do wish that on/off switch was easier to operate, but that's my only criticism of this product.
