Customer Review: Replaced an earlier version we used for five years

We have had similar coffeemaker, but not the same, to the Cuisinart 2200 brew central for about five years. It a Cuisinart and was used daily. The difference in models was that the previous model included a grinder which ground the beans prior to brewing the coffee. While a nice feature, it was a challenge to keep clean and finally led to the demise of the coffeemaker.
We decided to simplify and settle for a "coffee-maker" without the grinder, which we now do separately. The brewed coffee is excellent. It was for this reason we stayed with Cuisinart. The only drawback with this model and the one we had previously is that adding the water to the coffeemaker is challenging. You will spill often.
Nevertheless, this still deserves five stars.

This model replaced an excellent Braun, which died after many years of faithful service. Since I use a Brita filter system for all my drinking water, I don't use the Cuisinart filter. Compared to the Braun, the Cuisinart is slower, even when using the 1-4 cup setting, but it does make good coffee. As the manual indicates, even though there is a brew pause feature, it's better to wait until all the coffee has brewed if you want uniform taste. The inside gauge which some have complained about is slightly inconvenient, so I pour my filtered water into a carafe which is marked in two-ounce increments. As most people know, the claimed cup capacity for all coffeemakers is overstated; I find that it takes about 11 ounces of water to brew an average mug-sized cup.Customer Review: Not Hot Enough

I'm happy with most of what this model offers, I think it's a good coffeemaker, but two things i'm not thrilled with based on my impressions as someone who makes coffee occassionally for guests, but more often for just myself.
I use the '1-4 cups' button (which says it brews it hotter) and the coffee it brews not very hot. I don't want scalding hotness, but it's warm-hot. I have used other coffeemakers and they have been much hotter cups of coffee compared to this Cuisinart.
I'm willing to hear any advice here aside from "use a microwave if you want it hotter".
If I drink it right away, it's ok, which is why I give 3 out of 5 stars. Just wish it brewed hotter, and not sure if I make 8+ cups will the heat be greater?

I have purchased many coffee makers over the years, but this Cuisinart DCC-2200 is undoubtedly the best one yet that I've come across. It makes the best tasting coffee to my taste buds. I attribute part of this to the built in water filter. The coffee taste pretty consistent pot to pot. It also makes it hotter than other coffee pots that I've had, plus the warming plate keeps it nice and hot, hotter than other brands that I've owned. Another big plus, it's easy to clean after use. It's also a very attractive looking unit, looks nice sitting on the counter. They did a very nice job on this coffee maker.
The biggest negative to me is the clock display, it would be nice if it were larger and was lighted. Other than that, a big thumbs up.

I have been very happy with this coffee pot. My husband and I are both coffee drinkers and this machine eliminates the "empty pot syndrome". Programming is simple and the quality of the coffee taste is excellent. I do agree the lid is awkward and I would much prefer the lid that flips up with one motion over the current lid that must be lifted off and snapped back on to the carafe. As for the resevoir not being visible, the carafe is clearly marked for 4, 6 or 8 cups etc. If you utilize the carafe as a measure, rather than trying to eyeball an internal measure, you will resolve your concerns about the amount of water you are using.
We are very pleased with this product and were it not for the lid, I would give it 5 stars.
