Okay, I've only had and used this coffeemaker for about a week now, but I have some comments to make.
First of all, love- not having the decanter. Its much cleaner & simpler, no pouring, no coffee sitting out or getting burned. Ready whenever you want it! Trading "up" from a 4-cup GE cheapie, I found the coffee generally hotter and somewhat better tasting, although I use cheap "purified" bottled water to make coffee anyway, it just makes better coffee all around.
However- the splash thing has GOT to go! Every time you lift the lid, the condensation runs down from the inside of the lid down the back of the unit, over the counter.
This is just plain silly and a manufacturing defect if you ask me- they ought to recall them all, change the design and re-issue new ones.
Come on guys, coffee makers aren't that complicated! I don't know who overlooked that problem but they must have been asleep that morning (note to Cuisinart design staff: Drink more coffee).
This bugs me so much I'm going to try gluing something to the back and drilling a hole in there, so all the water can run back in every day when I open to dump the filter. Oh well.
