Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Cuisinart CSK-150 1500-Watt Nonstick Oval Electric SkilletCustomer Review: over rated Summary: 3 Stars
I was the main person to go for this expensive skillet even though my wife does the most cooking. We have been through three different electric skillets and unhappy with all of them, so thought paying a lot more would be better... WRONG. It does heat well and the food doesn't stick, but, the whole bottom bulges up so all the cooking oil migrates to the outer edge and the middle has a tendency to burn the food. The only way to remedy this is to keep about a half inch of oil in the skillet. I don't think I would buy one again, may stick to cheaper ones and just throw them away... if this one ever breaks down
Customer Review: It's beautiful Summary: 5 Stars
I owned my old electric skillet for 8 years. It was large and got lots of use.The old non-stick coating was wearing off and I've been shopping around for a new one for a while. It finally dropped and broke and I was forced to make a decision. I am so glad I opted for this one. It is deceivingly large, huge in fact. I had made spaghetti sauce and was surprised at how much extra room there was in the pan.I fried 8 potatoes and it just covered the bottom. It has a low profile and is very easy to store. Clean-up is a breeze. You practically just rinse it out. It was well worth the money spent.
Customer Review: MOST EVEN COOKING ELECTRIC SKILLET I EVER OWNED! Summary: 5 Stars
Cuisinart CSK-150 1500-Watt Nonstick Oval Electric Skillet
I purchased the Cusinart electric skillet from Amazon in mid-May after extensive review and it has been used once or twice a day since it arrived. I have been using electric skillets for 40 years and this is the best I have ever owned. It cooks food evenly and does not have the hot spots I've found in others. I love the shape, the depth and the vented lid. I would definately recommend this electric skillet.
Customer Review: Pretty good but wished for more Summary: 4 Stars
This is a very nice skillet, very durable, and handwashable. However, I'd hoped for something big enough in which to cook 4 pancakes at a time; this fits only 3 at a time. Secondly, there are definately "zones" that are hotter and cooler...you can tell by the fainter areas on my pancakes that looks suspiciously similar to the pattern of a heating element. Works great for large batches of burgers, pork chops, sauteed veggies. Glass lid is high quality. Skillet heats up quickly. The plug-in part can get wet, so it's not necessary to avoid that part while washing it.
Customer Review: What a disappointment!! Very Poor Quality Summary: 1 Stars
Purchased after reading the other (positive??) reviews. Received this and found pan was warped, lid did not seal, metal was all scraped and dented and the original serial number was blacked out and another stamped beneath it. Caveat Emptor!! Wondering if this was not really a Cuisinart or if it was a return because it was found defective by someone else. What a pain in the wallet since I paid for one-day delivery too:-( It was shipped from Amazon - found no evidence of a middle-man in the shipping papers nor evidence of shipping damage when sent to us.
