I researched many crock pots to give as a gift. This was by far the best quality crock pot I could find. It also comes with a recipe book, so you can get started right away.
It cooks true to time and temperature. The crock removes easily for serving and storage. The only surprise was the size of the unit. It is quite large and would work well in a good size kitchen, but is a bit overwhelming in terms of storage for an apartment.

While sleek, classy, and attractive, this slow cooker delivers the perfect dinners. I was concerned there was not a medium setting, which I always used on my old cooker, but the low temperature is the perfect setting for cooking all day. Clean up is a breeze. This cooker doesn't even need to soak before cleaning it. It's also a perfect size for a empty nest couple with grandkids that come for dinner!Customer Review: Worth the higher price

I think that this is a very nice slow cooker and well worth the higher price. It's the only brand I found that is 4 quarts and has an automatic timer. It's also nice because the timer can be set to any hour on any setting, not like Rivals. I also love the retractable cord. It cooks very well and doesn't seem to get as hot (on low) as my old Rival Smartpot. Comes with a great cookbook too.Customer Review: A great slow cooker

With just two of us eating at home the Cuisinart 4 Quart Slow Cooker has been an excellent addition to our kitchen. We have prepared some excellent meals for two with very little work. Just put the ingredients in the cooker, push the button, and go about our day. When finished, the meals are really good. We have used it 6 times in less than a month and give it a 5 star rating.Customer Review: Lot's of great features

I did my homework on shopping for a quality smallish (4 Quart) cooker. This is good looking, has an 8 hour timer, retractable cord, 3 heating levels and cuts to warm when the cooking time has been reached. It's easy to clean, and great for 1-6 person meals...a tad pricey & the stainless steel shell can get hot (which was expected!) but in this case it is worth it.
