Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Cuisinart CSC-400 4-Quart Slow Cooker, Brushed Stainless Steel and BlackCustomer Review: Well worth the extra cost!! Summary: 5 Stars
I bought this slow cooker almost a year ago and have been IN LOVE with it ever since! Yes, this is a smaller unit, but if you're only cooking for two, it cooks well with LOTS left over! We have used it for soups, stews, main dishes and desserts. It really is my favorite appliance in the house. I had previously bought a Rival Smart Pot and it cooked way too hot. The point of a slow cooker is to COOK SLOWLY. The Rival that we tried burned the dishes and was a waste of $45. We figured for the extra money, we might as well get something with great reviews and a strong Cuisinart name behind it. I recommend it to all my friends and family!!
Customer Review: Fabulous!!! Summary: 5 Stars
although i've used slow cookers for years, the cuisinart csc-400 cooks food perfectly & is a good-looking piece of merchandise as well! you can use the cuisinart's timer or not -- i've cooked with it off & on. if you do use the timer (up to 8 hours), the food stops cooking when the predetermined hour has been reached, & does keep the food warm until you're ready to eat. my previous experience was with rival's slow cooker, which developed interior cooking pot cracks & exterior burnt black scum. the quality of rival's cooking also varied, even when i was just cooking a piece of chicken. i highly recommend the cuisinart: it's truly superb!
Customer Review: Too Many Negatives for Cuisinard Summary: 2 Stars
People, look at these Cuis. products. Everyone is complaining that they are too hot, cooking has to be adjusted, afraid to leave it unattended, have to check it every hour, etc., etc. --- then you give it a 4 or 5 star???
I finally got the Hamilton Beach stainless with triple bowl sizes (2,4,6qt). Go see it-- everyone loves them and guess what? They are REAL slow cookers. I think Cuis. has a design flaw in their line and should recall them-- both digital and manual contol owners complain about them.
What, you like the looks too much to admit they are bad products??? Get real and trash them.
Customer Review: Great Cooker Summary: 5 Stars
I adore this slow cooker. I also have the 6.5 Qt. model which does an excellent job. This one does everything the larger model does but is great for preparing smaller meals when you don't want to deal with a lot of leftovers. I particularly like the "keep warm" function at the end of the cooking cycle. You can truly eat whenever you want to and not just when the meal is done. The retractable power cord is a terrific idea. It makes it so much easier to store without worrying about wrapping the cord around the appliance. I definitely recommend this slow cooker.
Customer Review: Its a Cuisinart it should be good. Summary: 5 Stars
I read all of the reviews before I purchased this Slow cooker from Amazon. Its the right size for two people and works like it should. It doesn't overcook like some cookers do nor does it undercook. It's just right. I've made several meals with it and I am pleased that I bought it but it doesn't surprise me because its a Cuisinart. All of the Cuisinart products I have purchased are all excellent. They may be a little more expensive than others but I haven't been disappointed in any Cuisinart purchase I have made.
