Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Cuisinart CSB-76W SmartStick 200-Watt Immersion Hand Blender, WhiteCustomer Review: I loved it, until it broke. Summary: 2 Stars
I had this for about 2 months. In that time it was great! I used it to make shakes just about every morning. If that had continued I'd easily give it 5 stars. Unfortunately it didn't. A little plastic piece sheared off. I did use things like frozen fruit in it, but their own recipes use ice so I figured that wouldn't be a problem. But, that was apparently too much for it.
It was still under warranty, but they request $10 for return shipping. Which in addition to the estimated $8-10 of shipping that I'd have to pay to get it to them is 2/3 of the original price paid ($30 with free shipping). So at this point it seems like a better idea to just go try a different model perhaps from a different manufacturer.
Customer Review: Solid purchase Summary: 5 Stars
This is a well-designed product. Although the blender doesn't come with the many attachments offered by some brands (different blades, small chopper assembly) it blends, whips, is easy to clean (great stainless wand and blade assembly), and has a positive and strong connection mechanism for the wand.
Previously we had owned the Wolfgang Puck brand immersion blender. It worked well until the plastic clips for the attachments weakened and broke off. The Cuisinart has a mechanical connection system which should last a long time.
Finally, although the Cuisinart has just a one-speed motor, that's all one needs, in our estimation.
Buy this Cuisinart Immersion blender with confidence!
Customer Review: Limited Clean-Up Summary: 5 Stars
I am a huge soup-maker .....this product has taken the mess & clean up time away !
A quick whirl of the Immersion Hand Blender and my soup is pureed to just the right consistancy !! The Immerser is lightweight and the indented button is effortless to touch...and Voila' your soup is perfectly pureed.
Just as quickly, I touch the release button and put the blender wand into the sink.
It is a quick cleanup tool........I never have to dip out my soup into a big ole blender (making a mess across the stove)....this blender is a wonderful addition to my kitchen !! After seeing it used on the Food Network, I wanted to give it a try....I am so glad I did...and you will be too !!
Bon appetit....
Customer Review: Cheap! Cheap! Very Cheap!!! Summary: 1 Stars
This product stopped working the third time I used it. This product says it can blend ice but all I had used it for was to blend steamed carrots, squash, and yams for my baby when it broke. I called Cuisinart and they said it would cost $10 for shipping to replace it and I would have to pay to ship it back. I got disconnected from the first customer service rep. when he was taking my credit card info. When I called back the new costomer service rep said they would ship me a new one for free and give me a paid return label to send back my broken one. I like the costomer service from the second rep. but this is a cheap unit that will probably break again:(! Spend your money on a DIFFERENT machine.
Customer Review: Use it daily Summary: 4 Stars
This is the second Quisinart immersion blender we've used, and frankly the earlier one was better as it had two speeds (high and low), whereas the new one only has one speed. Also, the earlier model had a stand to hold the blender, which we (fortunately) can still use for the new purchase; otherwise, the Quisinart would have to sit on the cupboard top or be put in a drawer, which wouldn't be nearly as convenient or easy to use. Still, we're pleased with our purchase; my husband uses it every morning to make his special protein-energy drink for us, and I use it to make really fluffy scrambled eggs. (Haven't yet tried any of the recipes that came with the blender.)
