And since you can blend right in the pot/cup/container, there's less you need to wash! I had previously owned a bamix, with all the interchangeable blades. But I actually like this better -- it's simpler, easier to use and clean, and does a great job blending soups and salad dressings. This is great for soups and sauces. They no longer need to be transferred from a pot to a classic blender. You just put the smartstick into the pot and let it blend. Cuts out a few steps. It's great. I am very pleased with this product and very, very happy with the service and packaging that was provided. The blender is very solid, easy to clean and easy to use. I've been very happy with this blender. Bought it to replace a GE that literally came apart. The cuisinart's 'on' switch is sooo much easier to depress. The power is great, puree's a soup in no time at all. Easy to clean - just pop the shaft in the dishwasher.
