Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Cuisinart CPC-600 1000-Watt 6-Quart Electric Pressure Cooker, Brushed Stainless and Matte BlackCustomer Review: I like cooking with this, sans rust! Summary: 3 Stars
Those 2 customer images belong to this review.
I have had this for a year, used it like 15 times. Now I see this rust seeping from inside the lid. What? Where is that coming from? Is it getting on my food?
I opened it up. Totally gross. Hello quality control? Hello design team? Hello bad attitude towards screw-ups?
Someone at Cuisinart must have known about this. This is disgusting. If I were smart I could come up with some other words.
Otherwise it works well. I like it. So much so that I will go find the screw in a stainless version and repair it.
Revised: Now what is that little thing even there for? I'll try it without it and see. It seems useless. Maybe it's there to generate service requests. It's not labeled on the Parts and Features section of user manual. WTF
Customer Review: Great Product Summary: 5 Stars
I have made a few standard items (pot roast, beef stew, sweet and sour chicken, pork ribs and kraut, chicken fricassee, swiss steak) with this pressure cooker - everything has turned out great. In fact I'm using it right now for another pot roast. Because of other reviews about the red pressure button not popping up i always make sure it pops up before i walk away from it, but so far i have not had any problems.
Its just my husband and me - when we make a full dinner in it, it makes enough for our meal and enough for me for 4 lunches, so the capacity is probably good for a family of 5 (depending on how much everyone eats) for one meal.
Easy clean up - I only wish the lid was dishwasher safe too.
Meals are simple, tasty, and fast. So far I have no regrets with this purchase. I can't wait to try new meals!
Customer Review: It will change your (cooking) life Summary: 5 Stars
I have been leery of pressure cookers since one blew up on my dad 10 years ago--but fear no more. This one has a locking lid and is very clear when it is at full pressure and should not be opened. I saw this cooker demonstrated in a cooking class; it was described as a slow cooker on steroids. I purchased one that night and couldn't live without it now. It's not only fast and convenient, but the food tastes better than any other cooking method. Rice has the best texture I've ever had. I use it 3-4 times a week, and for some meals I wish I had two! I don't understand the poor ratings given on this product--it is so simple to use. Simply turn the lid to lock it in place, make sure the valve is set at the dot, select your time and press start. It will even keep food warm (automatically) without degrading the quality for several hours.
Customer Review: Awesome in my kitchen Summary: 5 Stars
I had a nice expensive fairly new pressure cooker when I saw this, but this just spoke to me! I love all the things I can do with it beside just Pressure Cook, even though it's outstanding for that, too! I've used it to brown and saute food it prior to pressure cooking. How handy! I've even used it to simmer things for hours on end with the pressure lid off! It's great for slow cooking small amounts of food for a preset time. But pressure cooking with this wonder is what it's all about. I love that I can do my thing, put the lid on (correctly, that's important!) set the time... and walk away! I don't have to stand there and watch the darn thing for 15 minutes to make sure the regulator is rocking the way it's supposed to. I hated that. Now I can be doing something else while my fav appliance is doing all the work.
Customer Review: 21st century Summary: 5 Stars
Growing up in the 50's we had a pressure cooker in our home, mom used it each week for dinner because at that time she was a "working mom". when I married in the 60's it was natural for me to carry on the tradition and I have used a lot of pressure cookers. The main problems were they just wore out. Several weeks ago I was crusing the computer for a web sites for replacement parts for my pressure cooker and came across the Cuisinart CPC- 6 quart "ELECTRIC" Pressure Cooker, I was surprised they even made an electric one. So had to buy it and give it a try and I LOVE IT. It was so quiet I kept checking it to make sure it was working, and very little pressure release while cooking. When the time was up I released the pressure, unlocked the lid and a complete meal was ready.
this is a wonderful product.
